Earlier\u200d this \u200dmonth, the Texas National Guard \u200btook \u200ccontrol of Shelby \u200bPark \u2063in Eagle Pass, Texas, after Customs\u200d and\u2064 Border \u2064Patrol agents were filmed cutting through razor\u200b wire to make it easier for illegal\u200d immigrants to enter the United States.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the Supreme Court \u2062ruled 5-4 that federal officials may \u2064cut through razor wire that Texas authorities installed to repel migrants from crossing\u2064 the border illegally. Shortly after\u200b the ruling, Texas leaders,\u2062 including Republican\u2063 Governor \u2062Greg Abbott and \u200cAttorney General Ken Paxton hit back, saying the fight was not \u2064over.<\/p>\n<p>Abbott issued a statement \u2063on Wednesday, slamming President Joe Biden \u200dfor \u201cviolating his oath\u200c to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/abbott-texas-has-constitutional-right-to-defend-its-borders-from-invasion-supersedes-all-federal-law\/\" title=\"Abbott: Texas' Right to Defend Borders Trumps Federal Law\">execute immigration laws enacted<\/a> by Congress faithfully.\u201d Abbott\u200b also swore to secure the southern border and uphold \u201cTexas\u2019s constitutional authority to defend\u2062 and protect\u200c itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-five Republican governors backed Abbott and Texas on Thursday \u2062as the state \u2064seeks to secure the southern border.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>DeSantis Suspends Campaign Following 2nd-Place Finish In \u2064Iowa<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>Florida \u200cGovernor Ron DeSantis<\/b> suspended his campaign on Sunday and\u2063 endorsed GOP frontrunner Donald Trump. The \u2062announcement came less than a\u200c week after DeSantis finished second in the Iowa caucuses with 21%\u2063 of the vote behind Trump, who took \u206451%.<\/p>\n<p>The DeSantis campaign spent millions on Iowa and moved much of its staff to the state in hopes of pulling off an early upset and proving\u200d that the Florida governor could compete with \u2062Trump. DeSantis\u2019 strategy, however, didn\u2019t pay off as Trump steamed ahead to a dominating \u200cwin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there was anything I could do to produce a favorable outcome, more campaign stops, more interviews, I would do it,\u201d DeSantis \u200bsaid. \u201cBut I can\u2019t ask\u2064 our supporters\u2064 to volunteer their time and donate their resources if we don\u2019t have a clear path to \u200cvictory. Accordingly, I am today suspending\u200b my campaign. I\u2019m \u2064proud to have\u200d delivered on 100% of my promises, and I will not stop now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Trump Wins First-In-The-Nation Primary, Solidifies Lead\u2063 In GOP\u200d Primary<\/h3>\n<p><b>Two days after DeSantis suspended his \u2063campaign, Trump<\/b> cruised to another victory, this \u2063one in New Hampshire, where he took 54% of the vote beating former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley who received 43%. Trump\u2019s early \u2062victories in Iowa and New Hampshire put him at \u206232 delegates, 15 ahead of Haley who has\u200c 17 delegates. Candidates must reach 1,215 delegates to become the Republican nominee.<\/p>\n<h3>Ohio Legislature Overrides Republican Governor\u2019s \u200bVeto, Ban Gender \u2064Surgeries On Minors, Boys In\u2063 Girls\u2019 Sports<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><b>On Wednesday Republicans in the Ohio state Senate<\/b> voted to \u200doverride Republican Governor Mike DeWine\u2019s veto of a\u200b bill banning \u200btransgender hormone treatments and surgeries from\u2063 being performed on children, and barring boys and men from competing against girls and women in athletic competitions.<\/p>\n<p>The bill vetoed by \u2064DeWine, House Bill \u206368,\u200b is made up of \u2062two acts: the \u201cSave Adolescents from\u200d Experimentation Act\u201d\u2062 and the \u201cSave Women\u2019s Sports Act.\u201d It bans transgender \u200bprocedures on minors, such as double \u2064mastectomies on \u200cgirls who identify as boys, and other genital procedures for children\u200d with gender dysphoria. It also prohibits males\u2062 from competing in female sports across the \u200cstate, grades K-12, and the collegiate level.<\/p>\n<p>When DeWine initially vetoed \u2063the bill, he\u2064 argued that signing it would\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ohio-republicans-ban-trans-procedures-on-minors-boys-in-girls-sports-in-vote-overriding-gop-governor\/\" title=\"Ohio Republicans Ban Trans Procedures On Minors, Boys In Girls\u2019 Sports In Vote Overriding GOP Governor\">hinder parental rights<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOhio would be saying that the\u2062 state, that the government, knows better what is medically\u2062 best for a child than the two people who love\u200b that child the most,\u2062 the parents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2063 also made the claim that \u2063he \u200dwas acting to preserve \u201clife.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately,\u200d I believe this is about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/assisted-suicide-group-teams-up-with-planned-parenthood-honcho\/\" title=\"Assisted Suicide Group Teams Up With Planned Parenthood Honcho\">protecting human life<\/a>,\u201d DeWine said. \u201cMany parents have told me that their child would not have\u2062 survived, would be dead today,\u200d if they had not\u2064 received the treatment they received from one of Ohio\u2019s children\u2019s \u2063hospitals.
