Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jim_Jordan\/status\/1370432541975543810?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He also tweeted a video of a House Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee Hearing on Friday, which focused on whether the news industry and online publishers should negotiate for better agreements with platforms like Google and Facebook.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">House Judiciary Committee Democrats:<\/p>\n<p>-Refuse to hold full committee hearings<br \/>-Can&#8217;t even run functional subcommittee hearings<br \/>-Demand Congress give them a raise<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WATCH?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WATCH<\/a>: Do you think they deserve that raise? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SQZ6LkvLUM\">pic.twitter.com\/SQZ6LkvLUM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 House Judiciary GOP (@JudiciaryGOP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JudiciaryGOP\/status\/1370431585049317380?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During questioning, Jordan drew attention to OutKick\u2019s founder and lead writer Clay Travis, who spoke about how conservative commentators are being targeted online for censorship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat our democracy depends on is the First Amendment,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cMr. Travis, at the end of your statement, you said: \u2018I am a First Amendment absolutist and I believe cancel culture intertwined with identity politics is the greatest threat to our country.\u2019 I could not agree more. Do you have a functioning First Amendment when only one side is allowed to talk? Do you have&nbsp; free speech when Big Tech, Big media and big government decides what can be said and what can be seen?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, you don\u2019t, not at all,\u201d Travis answered. \u201cAnd I think that is the major issue that our country is facing today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore important than this broad concept of journalism, which I\u2019m all for, is the First Amendment,\u201d Jordan emphasized. \u201cThe right to speak and to speak in a political nature and not be censored for speaking out in a political fashion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jordan went on to say the free market isn\u2019t supposed to decide what is high quality journalism, it is the First Amendment that decides that.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/sen-lankford-we-should-only-borrow-what-absolutely-needs-to-be-spent\/\">Sen.
