These individuals are alleged to \u2063have linked their campaign accounts to official government resources, which is a violation of federal law and House ethics rules\u200b that\u200c regulate social media activity by members of Congress.<\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint, these\u2063 lawmakers have shared numerous social media posts on their campaign accounts that either utilize official government\u200c resources or repost official government content, including photos, \u2063videos, and work\u2064 products. The\u200d violations outlined in the complaint are considered serious \u200bbecause they allow politicians to lend an air of official legitimacy to their campaign accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The letter accompanying the complaint states, &#8220;Though to some it may seem like a simple thing on the surface, the Members choosing to break\u2063 this law do it for a reason \u2014\u200b it advantages \u200bthem politically. The various codes governing elected officials\u2019\u200c behavior\u2064 all purposefully \u2014 \u2064and wisely\u200c \u2014 \u2062prevent Members from blatantly leveraging their currently held office\u2062 to either get reelected or to use their position to gain a future position.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The complaint \u200dincludes approximately 91 pages of evidence documenting the\u200b violations of official House rules. One example cited is Pelosi&#8217;s \u200cposting\u2064 of House \u2063January 6\u200c footage from her official\u200d campaign account.<\/p>\n<p>FACT Executive Director Kendra\u2063 Arnold \u200dexpressed her\u200b concerns, stating, &#8220;This is not an \u2063isolated \u200bincident. These violations are rampant and obvious,\u2064 and clearly the OCE\u2019s failure to act \u200bhas encouraged continued violations.
