She is challenging the court&#8217;s dismissal, alleging\u200d that Engoron has shown &#8220;biased misconduct&#8221; towards the former president.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The Court\u2062 dodged addressing a crucial issue, which has ramifications for all New Yorkers. Simply stated,\u200b it is unacceptable that \u200bany \u200djudge\u2064 in America would place an unconstitutional \u2064gag order on \u200ca defendant,&#8221; Stefanik\u200d wrote in a letter to the \u2063New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If there is anyone who must have the constitutional right to speak out\u200b against the judge, court staff, prosecutor, and process, it is a defendant going through a\u2063 process he believes has been politicized and weaponized against \u2063him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stefanik also argued that Engoron&#8217;s gag order amounts to &#8220;election interference&#8221; since Trump is the \u200cfront-runner in \u2062the GOP presidential primary.<\/p>\n<p>This complaint is in addition to a\u2063 previous one filed by Stefanik \u200din November, where\u200c she \u200daccused Engoron of bias against Trump and\u200d called for\u200c his \u200drecusal \u2063from the case. Stefanik later \u2063filed a supplemental complaint, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-administration-officials-solicited-campaign-donations-from-lobbyists-report\/\" title=\"DeSantis officials asked lobbyists for campaign donations: Report.\">citing political donations<\/a> and\u2062 other conduct by Engoron and\u2064 his law clerk that she deemed as &#8220;illegal&#8221; and &#8220;biased\u2062 misconduct.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Engoron imposed\u2063 the gag order on\u2062 Trump in October \u2064after the former president criticized the judge&#8217;s staff \u2064in\u200d the civil fraud case. Trump&#8217;s lawyers appealed for the\u2062 gag order to be \u200dlifted, \u2062but the state&#8217;s \u200dappeals court rejected their \u2062request, stating that no substantial constitutional question was\u2062 involved.<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik expressed her \u2062outrage at the gag order, \u2062stating, &#8220;Illegally gagging the leading presidential candidate &#8211; \u200dDemocrat Manhattan Judge \u2063Arthur \u200cEngoron&#8217;s election interference -\u200b is \u200cshocking and appalling.
