Both the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/ap-fact-check-joe-biden-politics-pandemics-coronavirus-pandemic-71b80db13ee03ace2858228bbe52f099\">Associated Press<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/11\/us\/biden-stimulus-speech-fact-check.html\">New York Times<\/a> released a \u201cfact check\u201d Thursday, shortly after Biden\u2019s speech, and pointed out how he exaggerated the number of COVID-19 deaths.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said the number of deaths is \u201cmore than WWI, WWII, the Vietnam War and 9\/11 combined.\u201d In reality, however, the nearly 530,000 deaths from the pandemic is smaller than the 580,000 people who died in those three wars and the nearly 3,000 people who died in the September 11 attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Biden also downplayed the Trump administration\u2019s response to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo months ago this country didn\u2019t have nearly enough vaccine supply to vaccinate all or anywhere near all of the American public,\u201d he claimed. \u201cBut soon we will.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">FINALLY the Biden admin recognizes the Trump admin\u2019s unprecedented vaccine work:<\/p>\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f \u201cWe\u2019re grateful for the work that came before us\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f \u201cI would absolutely tip my hat\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f \u201cTrump administration made sure we got in record time a vaccine\u201d<\/p>\n<p>-Andy Slavitt, Biden Sr COVID Adviser<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kayleigh McEnany (@kayleighmcenany) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kayleighmcenany\/status\/1370038738672353285?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 11, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gao.gov\/assets\/gao-21-265.pdf#page=111\">Government Accountability Office<\/a> reported that by the end of last year the Trump administration had ordered at least 800 million vaccine doses, which should have been delivered by July 31.
