This poll comes at a crucial time as the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to hear Trump&#8217;s appeal regarding a case in which the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified \u2064him from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michigan-supreme-court-declines-to-hear-appeal-effort-to-remove-trump-from-primary-ballot\/\" title=\"Michigan Supreme Court rejects appeal to remove Trump from primary ballot\">holding office due<\/a> to his actions on \u2063January 6, 2021, which\u2063 they argue violate the 14th Amendment of\u2062 the\u200c U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<h3>Poll Results<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>41% of likely voters believe\u2063 Trump \u2063should be taken off the 2024 ballot because of his actions on January 6, 2021.<\/li>\n<li>40% believe he \u2064should not be removed from the ballot and that voters\u2064 should \u200cdecide whether he \u2064gets\u2064 another term.<\/li>\n<li>15% think Trump should only be removed from the\u200b ballot if he is convicted in relation\u200d to January 6.<\/li>\n<li>5% are unsure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since Trump has not been\u2064 convicted, a \u200cmajority of 55% now believe he should remain \u200con the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>David Byler, chief of research for\u2063 Noble Predictive Insights, explains, \u200d&#8221;Essentially, \u200c40% of the country wants\u2062 Trump off the ballot now, and 40% wants him\u200c on the ballot no matter how these legal proceedings turn \u200cout. If you look at the\u200b partisan breakdown, you&#8217;ll see that those groups are \u200dpolarized: Republicans\u2062 want\u200b Trump on the ballot,\u2064 and many Democrats don&#8217;t.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Byler adds, &#8220;Then there&#8217;s the \u200bswing block &#8211; 15% of voters, \u200bmany of whom are True Independents &#8211; who \u2064only \u200bwant Trump to be removed from the ballot if he&#8217;s convicted (which hasn&#8217;t happened yet).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to\u200c the \u2063poll, 71% of Democrats believe Trump should be taken off \u2064the ballot \u2063regardless, while 34% of independents \u2064agree. On the other\u2062 hand, \u206271% of Republicans believe he should\u2062 not be removed from \u2062the ballot, with 27%\u2063 of\u200c independents sharing the same view.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding respondents who believe \u200dTrump should only be removed with a conviction,\u200b the breakdown is as follows:\u2063 13% of Republicans, 15% of Democrats, \u2064and 18% of independents.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who was impeached twice by \u2064the U.S. House of Representatives, faces multiple legal challenges from\u200b four separate indictments, \u200cincluding charges related to his contestation of\u2062 the 2020 election results and the subsequent events on January 6.<\/p>\n<p>Byler concludes, &#8220;The right reading of this\u200b poll, in\u2064 my\u200d view, is\u200b that the public is tentatively in favor of putting Trump&#8217;s name on the ballot. But if Trump is \u200dconvicted in\u2063 court, that \u200d15% of the vote could\u2064 swing the other way &#8211; \u2064creating a majority that wants his\u2062 name off\u200b the\u2062 ballot.\u2062 It&#8217;s a tenuous situation &#8211; \u200cand public opinion \u200bwill \u200dalmost certainly \u2062change as these \u2063trials unfold.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Colorado&#8217;s Decision and Trump&#8217;s Lead in Republican Primary<\/h3>\n<p>Following the ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court, Democratic Maine Secretary of State Shenna\u200c Bellows has already removed \u200cTrump from the state&#8217;s\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rfk-jr-is-keeping-all-my-options-open-hints-of-potential-run-as-an-independent\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. considers all options, hints at potential independent run.\">2024 presidential primary ballot<\/a>.
