According to the Daily Wire, Hobbs previously pressed for $60 million\u2062 in \u200bsubsidies for &#8220;anti-disinformation work like hers \u2014 legislation whose momentum rested \u200con the idea that Russians caused \u2062Trump to win in 2016, itself a conspiracy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs played host to \u2063the state-sponsored &#8220;disinformation&#8221; seminars while also \u200cserving as chair of a National\u200b Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) group encouraging \u200dteachers to shift their focus to &#8220;consumerism\u200b and economic injustice.&#8221; Hobbs&#8217;\u200b Rhode Island Lab also once \u200dused a \u200dfake, satirical Lego set to encourage teachers to hold student\u2063 discussions about the \u2063Jan. 6, 2021\u2062 Capitol riot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When asked why the State Department would fund a propaganda seminar aimed at Americans,&#8221; the Wire reported, &#8220;the\u2062 State Department told The Daily Wire that with its\u200c $30,000 grant\u200b to Media Literacy\u200c Now,\u200b &#8216;the\u2063 U.S. Embassy in Germany supported the participation of German participants in the media literacy program you are inquiring\u200d about.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The current \u200cU.S. ambassador to Germany, \u200bAmy Gutmann,\u200c was\u2063 sworn in back in April \u20642022, \u2064just as the\u200c State Department \u200btrainings were purportedly ending.\u200b Before\u2064 becoming Biden&#8217;s \u200bambassador\u2063 in Berlin, however,\u200d Gutmann was\u2062 president of the University of Pennsylvania \u200dsince 2004.
