Florida Governor \u201cRon DeSantis has put all the marbles on Iowa and spent all of his time and money and seems to be going in the wrong direction. I think Nikki Haley\u2019s got all the momentum. And what this race is really all about is to try to nominate the strongest possible nominee for November,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past several months, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/republican-primary\/2024\/iowa-caucus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClearPolitics (RCP) shows Haley\u2019s polling average<\/a> gradually ticked up to second place at 18.8% over the 15.7% for DeSantis. Some of the most recent polls have shown her with an edge over DeSantis, while other surveys indicate a dead heat between Haley and DeSantis. Haley\u2019s hold on second place is even stronger in New Hampshire, where her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/republican-primary\/2024\/new-hampshire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RCP polling average sits at 29.3%,<\/a> 14.2 points behind Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m convinced that the momentum is with Nikki Haley, that she has the potential of moving into second place, although it be at a distant second place, which gives her momentum heading into New Hampshire,\u201d Hogan said, adding that Haley could possibly win the Granite State, \u201cwhich would put her in a much better position when she moves into her home state of South Carolina.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hogan, who recently stoked speculation about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-01-11\/larry-hogan-steps-down-from-no-labels-fueling-talk-of-2024-run\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">potential third-party bid<\/a> following his <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/larry-hogan-no-labels-president-554bf06459270be3b62724ede6fc8099\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">departure<\/a> from the No Labels group, declared his belief in Haley\u2019s chances to win the GOP nomination in the days after another Republican, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chris-christie-drops-out-of-2024-presidential-race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dropped out<\/a> of the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been saying since last spring when I made the decision not to run that I really did not want to see a multi-car pile-up that would just enable Donald Trump,\u201d Hogan said. \u201cI think we want to have the strongest possible nominee in November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hogan appeared to reference <a href=\"https:\/\/s.wsj.net\/public\/resources\/documents\/WSJ_Poll_Dec_2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a Wall Street Journal poll<\/a> released in December showing Haley with a 17-point advantage over President Joe Biden, who is seeking re-election, while Biden facing off against Trump or DeSantis was a much closer race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, yes, I think it\u2019s time for the party to get behind Nikki Haley,\u201d Hogan said. \u201cMy friend Chris Christie dropped out of the race in New Hampshire. I appreciate his effort.
