King\u2019s intellectual and moral challenge to judge people by the content of their \u200bcharacter, not by the color of\u200d their\u200d skin,\u200b is in direct opposition to leftists\u2019 narrative that\u200b judging people\u2019s value begins with their skin color.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Keep in mind that many on the left never \u2063agreed with MLK\u2019s nonviolent movement of protest \u200bin the 1960s. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/black-history\/stokely-carmichael\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stokely Carmichael,<\/a> the originator of the black nationalist\u2064 movement (Black Power) and the Black\u200c Panthers, once stated, \u201cWhen you talk of Black\u200c power,\u2064 you talk\u200c of building a movement that\u200b will smash everything Western civilization has created.\u201d Many followers of this movement enrolled in colleges in the 1970s, earned doctoral degrees in African studies (or grievance studies), \u200dand now lead or\u2062 have major influence in local, state, and\u2063 federal agencies, academia, the arts, and\u200c media.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1722761009\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f4fd05dc71007b4e9ae6dc0bb0c55740 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f4fd05dc71007b4e9ae6dc0bb0c55740\"><\/div>\n<p>While the radicals \u2064were developing leadership roles, the majority of Americans accepted MLK\u2019s vision\u2064 of judging people by the content of their character\u2063 and not by the color of \u200ctheir skin. Hence, many people would\u2062 use the phrase, <strong>\u201cI don\u2019t \u2062see color\u201d<\/strong> \u2063to confirm their buy-in\u2064 of \u200dthat \u200dvision. In \u200dfact, based\u200c on a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/1687\/Race-Relations.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gallup poll<\/a>, nearly 70\u2062 percent of Americans, black and \u200bwhite, rated race relations\u200b either good or very\u2064 good back in \u20622002.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, it was in the\u2064 first black president\u2019s second term when race relations worsened. Now, less that \u206344 percent of Americans rate race\u200b rations as good\u2063 or very good, according to Gallup\u2019s \u200d2021 \u2062poll. I contend that a major reason for that is the mass marketing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">critical race theory<\/a> (CRT), systemic racism, and DEI by Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>I belong to a significant percentage of the \u200bblack population that agrees with MLK\u2019s vision and disagrees with the radical \u200bagenda that uses\u2062 racial disparities to reshape the country.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When\u2063 DEI \u2063Can Kill<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>If leftists have their \u200cway, they might\u2063 decide to\u200d change the name of Dr.\u200b King\u2019s holiday\u2064 to Oppressed People\u2019s Day. Some will\u200d think I\u2019m guilty of hyperbole. Many will not.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For instance, for equity\u2019s sake, both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/legalindustry\/abas-legal-education-council-signals-support-bar-exam-alternatives-2022-08-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Bar Association<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ama-assn.org\/press-center\/press-releases\/ama-adopts-guidelines-confront-systemic-racism-medicine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Medical \u2062Association<\/a> have released statements\u2064 that support DEI \u2062or adjusting standards to pass \u200ctheir \u200cexams.<\/p>\n<p>Proponents of these lower standards will\u2062 try to convince us it \u2064will not adversely affect\u2064 the quality of\u200c these professionals. The rest of us know \u200bbetter.<\/p>\n<p>Proud \u200dblack Americans \u200dhave been passing and\u200b exceeding the bar exam and medical school standards since the 1800s, even in \u2064the face of egregious, overt, and legal forms of racism. \u200bThey would be rightly appalled at the notion currently peddled by leftists \u2062that \u2064standards need to be lowered in the name of \u201cequity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although blacks have been passing \u2064these \u200bexams for two centuries, leftists\u2064 believe adjustments \u200din \u200cbar exam standards and\u200b medical school scoring methods are necessary\u200c to combat\u200c disparities between the races \u2063in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-please-pardon-jon-woods-a-victim-of-process-crimes-like-michael-flynn\/\" title=\"President Trump, Please Pardon Jon Woods, a Victim of Process Crimes Like Michael Flynn\">criminal justice system<\/a>, health care,\u200c and \u2063academic testing methodologies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/government\/delaware-lowers-bar-pass-score-eases-path-lawyer-licensing-2023-02-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">California and Delaware<\/a> have lowered the points required to pass their bar exams. In the name of equity, other states are considering following suit. In addition, The Federation of State\u2064 Medical Boards decided to make\u2063 step one\u2062 of medical school students\u2019\u200d first\u2062 major exams a pass\/fail score instead of the\u200d legacy raw test results. Without claiming the changes\u200d were for diversity reasons, some black \u2062physicians noted, \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/psychnews.psychiatryonline.org\/doi\/10.1176\/appi.pn.2020.9a12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cit was a step in\u2064 the right\u2063 direction.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sadly, these\u2062 disparities do not start in law school and\u2064 medical school.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fatherlessness Is\u2062 Behind\u2063 Racial Disparities<\/h2>\n<p>These disparities have been a thorn\u200c in \u2064the side \u200bof the\u200c nation for decades because \u200bleftists refuse to acknowledge the dancing elephant in \u2062the room. The real driver of racial disparities is the \u2063fatherless homes crisis among \u200cblack Americans.<\/p>\n<p>In our lifetime,\u2062 we have witnessed the transformation \u2064of the black culture\u2064 from \u206480 percent two-parent families to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/693212\/77-black-births-to-single-moms-49-for-hispanic-immigrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lefts-claim-critical-race-theory-not-taught-in-schools-falls-apart\/\" title=\"Left\u2019s Claim Critical Race Theory Not Taught in Schools Falls Apart\">80 percent fatherless homes<\/a><\/a>. Even some on the left \u2063recognize this damaging trend. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/10\/22\/1207322878\/single-parent-married-good-for-children-inequality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Melissa Kearney<\/a>, senior fellow of\u2063 the left-leaning \u2064Brookings Institute and \u200ban economics professor, made the point in\u2063 her book \u2062 <em>The\u200d Two-Parent Privilege: How Americans Stopped Getting Married and Started Falling Behind<\/em> \u200cthat the link between single parenting, inequality, and mobility in America is\u200c too strong to deny.<\/p>\n<p>TakeCharge, of which I\u2019m founder, is a grassroots organization of predominately black Americans from broken families\u200c and\/or difficult\u2064 upbringings who embrace King\u2019s vision. Despite our troubled backgrounds, we have achieved a level of success in America and reject\u200d the \u200cvictimhood mindset of DEI \u200band CRT. We represent a sizable percentage of \u2063black Americans who are\u2064 censored\u2062 by the corporate media and marginalized \u200dbecause of our views\u2062 and faith.\u200b We are insulted by the notion that\u2064 standards \u2062need to be lowered because of \u201cdisparities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The racial disparities\u2064 among black Americans are \u200creal, but the real drivers of those disparities have been \u200cignored by black leaders for decades because of their lust\u200d for political \u2064power, desire \u200bfor personal wealth, and fear of being held\u200d accountable. It is time black\u2064 Americans realize they have\u200d been deceived by people entrusted to\u200c lead \u2063and \u200dimprove their lives.<\/p>\n<p>A transformation can take place for black Americans, \u200bbut it must\u200b be a grassroots effort void of government incentives. The return of the cultural \u200croots of faith, family, and education is\u2064 imperative.\u2062 That was the character\u200d of our culture before \u200cit\u200d accepted \u201chelp from the government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is critical we begin teaching a\u2064 new generation of\u2064 young people the importance of marriage before children and \u2063the value of\u200d faith,\u200d and that we restore high standards of education \u200cand the\u2063 desire to be educated.<\/p>\n<p>These \u2062cultural changes are empowering because they require personal decision-making,\u2062 individual responsibility, and commitment. They require no government\u200d aid or government approval.\u2064 What they\u2063 do require are black leaders\u2064 who \u200bexude strong \u200bcontent of character \u2014 the essence of King\u2019s vision \u2062and \u200bthe \u2062reason\u200b we celebrate this day.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-17ab8bed179eec4f2a556ae1cfdfcbf6 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-17ab8bed179eec4f2a556ae1cfdfcbf6\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How has the adoption of critical race theory,\u2062 systemic\u2063 racism ideology, and DEI initiatives by the Democratic Party contributed to a decline in race relations, as\u200c observed in Gallup&#8217;s poll<\/h2>\n<p><span>  The celebration\u200b of Martin Luther \u200bKing Jr. Day is \u200dan \u2063ironic paradox, as it honors values that are despised by \u2063many on the left. MLK&#8217;s\u2062 message of judging individuals based\u2062 on their character rather than their skin color directly contradicts the leftists&#8217; narrative that values people based on their race.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that many \u200don\u200b the left did \u200bnot agree with MLK&#8217;s nonviolent movement of\u2063 protest in the 1960s. Figures like Stokely Carmichael, the originator of the black nationalist \u2064movement \u2063and the Black Panthers, openly denounced MLK&#8217;s vision and called for the\u2062 destruction of \u200bWestern civilization. However,\u2063 many followers of this\u200b radical movement went on\u200c to join\u2064 institutions\u2063 of \u200bhigher education, earn advanced degrees in African studies or \u200dgrievance studies, and now hold positions of power and influence in \u2062various sectors of society.<\/p>\n<p>While these radicals were rising\u2064 to leadership positions,\u2064 the majority of Americans embraced MLK&#8217;s vision of judging individuals by their character, not their skin color. \u2063The phrase &#8220;I don&#8217;t see color&#8221; became a common expression \u2063of support for this\u2063 vision. \u200cIn fact, a Gallup poll conducted in 2002 \u200brevealed that nearly 70\u200d percent of Americans, both black and white, rated race relations as either good or\u200c very good.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically,\u200c it was during the second term of the first black president that \u200brace relations started to deteriorate. \u2063According to Gallup&#8217;s 2021 poll, \u2064less than 44 percent of Americans now\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-americans-rate-black-white-relations-lowest-in-more-than-20-years\/\" title=\"Poll: Americans Rate Black-White Relations Lowest In More Than 20 Years\">rate race relations<\/a>\u2063 as good or very good. One major reason \u200bfor this decline can be attributed \u200dto the mass adoption of \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jordan-threatens-fbi-director-wray-with-contempt-over-targeting-parents-catholics\/\" title=\"Jordan warns FBI Director Wray of contempt for 'targeting' parents, Catholics.\">critical \u2064race theory<\/a> (CRT), systemic racism ideology, and\u200d diversity, equity, and inclusion \u2064(DEI) initiatives by the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<p>As a member of the black population, I align \u2063with MLK&#8217;s vision and reject\u2064 the \u200dradical\u200b agenda that uses racial disparities \u2063as a means to reshape the\u200c country.<\/p>\n<p>One concerning aspect of\u2062 the left&#8217;s agenda is \u200bthe push for \u200bdiversity, equity, and \u200dinclusion (DEI) measures that could have unintended consequences. Some proponents of DEI suggest \u2064that the name of MLK&#8217;s holiday should\u200c be changed to &#8220;Oppressed People&#8217;s Day&#8221; \u200dfor the \u2062sake of \u200dequity. This proposal may seem exaggerated, but it highlights the potential dangers of\u200d DEI initiatives when taken to the extreme.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, both the American Bar\u2063 Association and the American Medical Association have released statements supporting DEI or adjusting standards to ensure\u2064 diversity. They argue\u200d that lowering standards \u200cwill not negatively impact the quality of professionals. However, proud black Americans\u200c have been passing and exceeding these standards since the 1800s, \u200ceven in the\u2063 face of overt racism. The idea that standards \u2063need to \u2063be lowered in the name\u2064 of equity is offensive to those who have worked hard \u200cto achieve their goals.<\/p>\n<p>California and Delaware have already lowered the passing \u2063scores for \u200btheir bar exams in the name of equity, \u200cand other states are considering following suit. This trend has had detrimental\u200c effects on the\u2064 black community,\u2064 and even left-leaning scholars have recognized the \u2064link\u200d between single parenting, inequality, and social mobility.<\/p>\n<p>It\u200c is essential\u2064 to acknowledge \u2063the \u200cimpact of fatherlessness and address the root \u200ccauses of\u200b racial disparities rather than\u200d relying solely on DEI \u200bmeasures\u200d that may not effectively address these issues.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, the celebration\u200b of MLK Day serves as a reminder of the paradox within\u200c the left. While MLK&#8217;s values of judging \u200dindividuals by their character are \u200chonored, many on\u2062 the left continue to promote ideologies that focus on racial \u2064divisions.
