But a courageous group \u200dof residents \u2064is betting California voters are less radical than their politicians\u200b and that the tide can turn against gender ideology even on the West Coast.<\/p>\n<p>A proposed ballot initiative by\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/protectkidsca.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Protect Kids California<\/a> would put the Golden State&#8217;s radical &#8220;trans kids&#8221; agenda \u2014 which has previously been <a href=\"https:\/\/wng.org\/opinions\/the-transgender-liability-1695727031\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">checked<\/a> only by Gov. Gavin Newsom&#8217;s presidential ambition \u2014\u2063 before the people.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The\u200b initiative would enact three policies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>End the practice\u200d of government schools \u200csocially transitioning children without informing \u2062parents.<\/li>\n<li>Require sex-specific\u200c spaces and sports to\u2064 be based on\u2063 biological sex, not\u2062 self-declared\u200d &#8220;gender identity.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Prohibit medically transitioning children with chemicals, hormones, \u2062and \u200dsurgeries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>These \u200cworthy goals might seem impossible. Even as many other \u200dstates have enacted such policies,\u2063 California&#8217;s \u2062leaders have\u2062 doubled down on radical gender ideology and transitioning\u200c children.\u2063 But\u200c the organizers of the initiative point to \u200dpolling to argue that \u2062California&#8217;s voters are on\u2063 their side on this issue, even if Californians tend to vote \u200bfor Democrats who are in the grip of gender \u200bideology and the transgender lobby. Erin Friday, one of the leaders of\u200c the effort, \u2063is a lifelong Democrat, and she is convinced there are many more like her who find the transgender industry&#8217;s\u200c targeting of children abhorrent.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>She may be right. The campaign&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/protectkidsca.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a> highlights polling showing that the public is with them, and in an\u200c email to me, Friday\u2062 shared additional polling commissioned by the \u2063feminist Women&#8217;s Liberation Front\u2062 showing overwhelming\u2063 support for \u2062the child-protection policies this\u200c ballot initiative would enact.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This ballot initiative would protect children from outside California as well. As Friday has\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/ourduty.substack.com\/p\/as-goes-california-so-goes-the-nation\">explained<\/a>, \u200bCalifornia\u200b is a sanctuary state for sexual experiments\u200b on children. \u200cIn \u200bthe name of gender \u2064ideology, California now\u2063 refuses to return runaways to their out-of-state parents, pays for minors to \u2064be chemically \u2063and surgically castrated, and shields \u200bdoctors \u200bwho \u2062flee to\u200d California after breaking the laws of other states.\u200c Winning in California is a\u2063 victory for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Thus California&#8217;s Democrat establishment will do everything it can \u200bto stop\u200d this. The \u2062state attorney general has already written a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capradio.org\/articles\/2024\/01\/03\/group-to-sue-california-ag-over-title-of-ballot-initiative-seeking-to-prohibit-gender-affirming-care-for-trans-youth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">biased and inaccurate summary<\/a> of the measure \u200c(the\u200d title line is literally &#8220;RESTRICTS RIGHTS OF TRANSGENDER YOUTH&#8221;) that <a href=\"https:\/\/elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov\/ballot-measures\/pdf\/statewide-initiative-guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">by law<\/a> is included on the petition pages. And\u2063 additional resistance is sure \u2062to follow \u2014 for \u2062example, petition signatures will\u200d be rigorously scrutinized by people who otherwise denounce \u200belection-integrity measures as racist.<\/p>\n<p>The debate \u200dover the measure will be ugly. Its\u2063 opponents will undoubtedly resort to suicide threats early and\u200b often, declaring \u2063that \u2064this law will push kids to kill \u2062themselves. It won&#8217;t, but telling kids to take themselves hostage is the transgender movement&#8217;s main weapon. After all, the only harm that can come from not transitioning is self-harm. Furthermore, there is no good evidence that castrating or mutilating kids\u200d reduces suicides. And \u200din other\u200c contexts, we \u200drecognize that constantly threatening suicide is manipulative and abusive.<\/p>\n<p>The ugliness won&#8217;t end just because the election does. \u2062If this measure gets on\u200b the ballot and passes, there \u2062will be lawsuits. \u2064There\u200c will be protests that turn into riots. There will be \u2063promises of noncompliance from government officials and employees. But it will all be worth it.<\/p>\n<p>If gender ideology\u200b goes down \u2064in California, it will fall everywhere. Even the most committed \u2062Democrats (and the most craven Republicans \u2014 looking at you, Ohio Gov. Mike\u2062 DeWine) will\u2062 have\u2063 to\u2064 acknowledge that it is a political liability. And the collapse \u200bcould be swift. Many people went along with radical gender ideology not out of conviction,\u2063 but\u200c because \u200cthey were afraid of being\u2062 caught on \u2064the wrong side\u2063 of \u2062the latest \u2062front in the \u2064cultural revolution.\u2062 They will happily abandon\u200d it if their fear is taken away, and defeating transgender radicalism in California will do that.<\/p>\n<p>There is work to \u200bdo \u200dbefore that happy future is realized. The initiative has yet to qualify\u2062 for the ballot,\u200d let alone pass. California residents can print out the\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/protectkidsca.com\/sign-petitions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">petition<\/a>, sign it, and mail it in. They can also <a href=\"https:\/\/protectkidsca.com\/stay-informed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">volunteer<\/a>. And everyone can <a href=\"https:\/\/protectkidsca.com\/donate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">donate<\/a> to\u200c help fund the effort. Collecting more than a half-million valid signatures isn&#8217;t\u200c free, to say nothing of countering the mass of lies the\u2062 media\u2062 will tell about it.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u200d is worth the attempt.\u200b 2023 brought a lot of victories in protecting \u200cchildren in \u200dRepublican states from transgender insanity, but victory requires going\u2062 on offense, even\u200b \u2014 especially\u200d \u2014 in California.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How does the proposed ballot initiative \u200cby Protect\u200c Kids California aim to protect children&#8217;s\u2063 well-being and what specific measures does it seek to implement<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Ds is medically necessary or beneficial. The science overwhelmingly shows\u2062 that\u200b most children\u2063 who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/amazon-now-bans-books-that-treat-gender-dysphoria-as-mental-illness\/\" title=\"Amazon Now Bans Books That Treat Gender Dysphoria as Mental Illness\">experience gender dysphoria<\/a> will eventually grow out of it \u200dand\u200b come to accept their\u2062 biological sex.<\/p>\n<p>But despite this evidence, the\u200b transgender \u200blobby and their\u2064 allies in the media and academia continue \u200dto \u2064push the narrative that \u200btransitioning is \u2063the only solution for\u2062 these children. They ignore the\u200d potential harms and risks associated\u2062 with medical interventions such as\u2064 hormonal treatments and surgeries, which can have\u2064 serious\u200d lifelong consequences for these vulnerable \u200ckids.<\/p>\n<p>Protect Kids\u200b California aims to change this dangerous trend and protect the well-being \u200dof children in the \u2064state. \u2062The proposed \u200dballot initiative seeks to end the practice of government schools\u2062 socially \u2064transitioning\u200d children without parental consent. It\u2062 also aims to ensure \u200dthat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/there-is-one-pro-women-camp-in-american-politics-and-its-the-right\/\" title=\"There Is One Pro-Women Camp In American Politics, And It\u2019s The Right\">sex-specific spaces<\/a> and sports remain based on biological sex, not \u200cself-declared gender identity. Furthermore, it \u200bseeks to prohibit\u2063 the medically transitioning of children\u200c using chemicals, \u2064hormones, and surgeries.<\/p>\n<p>These policies \u2064are \u2063not radical or \u2062discriminatory. They are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-leadership-deficit-doom-loop\/\" title=\"The Leadership Deficit Doom Loop\">common-sense measures<\/a>\u2063 that\u2062 prioritize the safety and\u2064 well-being of \u2063children. \u200bYet, California&#8217;s Democrat establishment and activists are already doing everything they can to stop this initiative from\u200d moving forward. \u2063The state attorney general has issued\u200c a\u2063 biased and inaccurate\u200b summary of the\u2062 measure, using language that portrays it as restricting\u200b the rights of transgender youth.<\/p>\n<p>The opposition to\u200b this initiative will undoubtedly be \u2064fierce, with opponents\u2064 resorting to emotional blackmail and \u200cbaseless claims that the enactment of\u200d these policies will lead to\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/their-product-is-killing-teenage-girls-joe-scarborough-pins-blame-on-congress-in-emotionally-charged-anti-facebook-rant\/\" title=\"\u2018Their Product Is Killing Teenage Girls!\u2019: Joe Scarborough Pins Blame On Congress In Emotionally-Charged Anti-Facebook Rant\">increased suicide rates<\/a> \u2062among transgender\u200c youth. \u2063However, the truth is that pushing\u200b young children \u200binto\u200b irreversible medical interventions\u2064 without proper evaluation and informed consent is the real harm.<\/p>\n<p>Protect \u200bKids California\u2063 is backed \u200bby research and polling\u2063 that \u200dshows public support for these child-protection policies. It\u200d is \u200creassuring to know that Californians \u200bare not as \u2062radical as their\u200c politicians and that there are people \u200bfrom \u200call political backgrounds who find the targeting of children by the transgender industry abhorrent.<\/p>\n<p>By\u2063 protecting children in \u2063California, this initiative will also serve as \u200ca victory\u2064 for children across the nation.\u200c California has become a sanctuary state for unethical\u2063 experimentation on minors, and winning \u2064here will send a message that the well-being\u2064 of children should always\u200b be prioritized over \u200bradical ideologies.<\/p>\n<p>The battle to protect kids in California from radical\u2064 gender ideology will be\u200c challenging. The initiative&#8217;s supporters will face resistance,\u200c biased summaries, and scrutiny\u200b of petition signatures.\u200c However, the fight is \u200cworth it because \u200bthe future of countless children depends on\u2062 it.<\/p>\n<p>It is \u200ctime to put children&#8217;s well-being above politics \u200cand\u2063 ideology. Protect Kids California is leading the charge, and\u2063 it is up to the people \u200bof California to stand up for their children and support this\u2064 crucial ballot initiative.
