DeSantis expressed his support for\u2063 states having the power to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-recall-petition-close-to-success\/\" title=\"Newsom Recall Petition Close To Success\">enforce immigration laws<\/a>, especially in light of the Biden administration&#8217;s failed policies.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The federal government down there \u2063has frustrated Texas&#8217; \u200cattempt to try to get people not to come across the border. And I think they \u200cwill say that was on the \u2062Mexico side, and maybe the\u2064 facts will come\u200c out and that will be clear \u2063one way or another. Obviously, it&#8217;s an\u2063 unfortunate thing,&#8221; DeSantis\u2063 explained. &#8220;But\u2063 I think what Texas is trying to do is set a standard\u2064 so that people know that \u2063they&#8217;re going to be \u2063turned away, rather than let in. Under the Biden administration, they let \u2064them in, they give them a paper, and release them to the interior \u2064of the country. That&#8217;s not\u2063 a deterrent from being able to\u2064 come.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis emphasized the importance \u2064of creating \u200ba strong deterrent for illegal immigration. He argued that \u200cif potential migrants know they won&#8217;t be able to gain\u200c entry, they would be less likely to pay smugglers and risk dangerous \u2062journeys. He called for the federal\u200b government to \u2064provide more support to Texas in order to effectively stop the influx of illegal\u200c immigrants.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;If people know that they&#8217;re not going to be able \u200dto get\u200d in, then that&#8217;s a deterrent for people trying to come,&#8221; DeSantis concluded. \u2064&#8221;Why would you want to pay a smuggler, a coyote $5,000 when you&#8217;re just \u200bnot\u200d going to be able to \u2064gain\u2063 entry \u200din the first \u2063place? So I&#8217;d like to see \u200bthe federal government do more to help Texas to stop\u2064 the influx. And I think that\u2063 would be better for everybody.
