(Photo by Rob \u2064Carr\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>OAN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/brooke-mallory\">Brooke Mallory<\/a><br \/>6:27 PM \u2013 Friday, January 12, 2024<\/h2>\n<p>DEI chief officer for Johns Hopkins, Dr. Sherita Hill Golden,\u00a0recently sent a \u201cmonthly diversity digest\u201d email this week to staff\u200b with\u2062 a letter informing the team just \u2062who \u200bis and who is not \u201cprivileged.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-3\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px; text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-3'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>At one point, Golden \u200dboldly asserted that \u2062 <strong>\u201call males\u201d<\/strong> are privileged, \u2064and she includes \u2063 <strong>\u201cWhite people,\u201d<\/strong> those\u200d who are <strong>\u201cMiddle class,\u201d<\/strong> and even <strong>\u201cMiddle-aged people\u201d<\/strong> as members of the <strong>\u201cprivileged\u201d<\/strong> category.<\/p>\n<p>Golden goes on to label <strong>\u201ccisgender people\u201d<\/strong> as \u2064privileged too. Cisgender refers to those who identify with \u2064the sex and gender that they were born with.\u2063 However, she did not stop there. \u2063 <strong>\u201cChristians,\u201d<\/strong> <strong>\u201cable-bodied people,\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cEnglish-speaking people\u201d<\/strong> \u200bwere also on the list.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you speak \u2062English, Dr. Golden considers you a privileged class and member of society, and you are not aware of your <strong>\u201cunearned\u201d<\/strong> benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, Dr. Golden has\u200c placed those \u200bin the privileged categories if they were not born into a family of impoverished, non-English-speaking\u2064 women\u2062 of color who now identify as \u2064men, or vice versa.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">John Hopkins just sent out this\u2063 hit list of people automatically guilty of &#8220;privilege&#8221; whether they know it or not:<\/p>\n<p>-Males<br \/>-Whites<br \/>-Christians<br \/>-Mid-aged people<br \/>-Able-bodied \u200cpeople<br \/>-Middle \u2063&#038; owning class<br \/>-English-speaking\u2064 people<\/p>\n<p>This message \u200cwas emailed directly to employees\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xor1wjo17B\">pic.twitter.com\/xor1wjo17B<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 End\u2064 Wokeness (@EndWokeness) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EndWokeness\/status\/1745161772057649648?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 10, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cPrivilege is\u200b characteristically invisible to people who have it,\u201d Golden explained in\u200d the \u200bemail.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cPeople\u2063 in dominant groups often believe \u200dthey have earned the\u2062 privileges they enjoy or that everyone could have access to these privileges if\u2062 only\u2063 they worked to earn them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Many were shocked to find out that a renowned,\u2064 respectable hospital such as Johns Hopkins would \u200dhire a DEI\u2062 officer who exudes such bigotry.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200bthe hospital did create the position of Chief Diversity Officer, and they still chose to\u2063 install\u2063 Golden to carry out the task of \u2064making those who were born with certain characteristics and traits feel guilty for the hand\u2064 that they have been dealt. <\/p>\n<p>Golden was even \u200dpraised in a LinkedIn post by The Center Club. The \u2063Center Club \u200clabels itself as \u201cBaltimore\u2019s premier venue for dining, business, social and family activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company praised Golden in the post \u200band gave a description of her duties,\u200c while highlighting her in the \u201cWomen in Business 2023 Trailblazer Spotlight.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Extensive medical research and essential operations are carried out by Johns Hopkins.
