Nathan Sanderson, executive director of the South Dakota Retailers \u2062Association, argued that \u200cthe state&#8217;s economy has been aided by inflation and federal funding.\u2062 He\u200c pointed out that \u200bfederal dollars received \u200dby the state\u200d increased from $1.8 billion in fiscal year 2021 to \u2064$3.5 billion the following year. They may \u200dengage in excessive flattery, praise, or over-the-top gestures to ingratiate themselves\u2064 with influential individuals.<\/p>\n<p>The negative connotation \u200cof the term implies that sycophants lack integrity, independence, and genuine respect for others.
