Their decision? \u2063Putting an end to transgender \u200bchild \u200cmutilation and banning men from participating \u2064in women&#8217;s sports\u200d in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Most Ohioans and\u200d Americans agree with this\u200d stance, as\u200c polls \u200bhave\u200d shown that they \u2063do not support \u2063medical interventions for minors \u200bwith gender dysphoria or the inclusion\u2062 of\u2064 transgender athletes in \u2064sports teams. The Ohio Republicans&#8217; &#8220;Save Adolescents From Experimentation\u2063 Act&#8221; aimed to address these concerns, but Governor Mike DeWine vetoed the bill.<\/p>\n<p>DeWine&#8217;s justification for the \u2064veto was based\u2062 on questionable studies \u200dand unreliable surveys that\u200b claim gender-confused kids are at risk of\u2062 suicide without transgender interventions. \u2063In an attempt to\u2062 prevent a veto override, DeWine signed an executive order that only prohibits genital\u200c mutilation \u2064of\u200d children, but its validity depends\u200d on \u200dthe Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review.<\/p>\n<p>The governor&#8217;s attempt to save face\u2063 did \u2064not sit well \u200dwith state representatives or their constituents. Representative Bill Click, the sponsor of HB 68, expressed his\u200d disbelief at the effort required to protect \u2063children and women&#8217;s spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio Republicans \u200dare not alone in their fight against\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-legislation-targets-schools-pushing-child-gender-transitions\/\" title=\"GOP Legislation Targets Schools Pushing Child Gender Transitions\">harmful gender ideology<\/a>.
