It was the Midwest versus West Coast. Smash-mouth versus spread-it-out. The Great Lakes versus, well, the ocean. Like\u200b I said yesterday, this matchup wasn\u2019t the Coca-Cola classic that we\u2019re used to seeing with \u2064the team representing from the South;\u200d however, I also said I didn\u2019t think that meant \u200bit wouldn\u2019t be as delicious. After\u200d all, \u200din the long run, it\u2019s \u200bbetter \u2064for you to have an \u2064alternative every once \u2062in \u200ca while.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s\u200b why I\u2063 called last night\u2019s national championship matchup \u201cThe College Football Natty Zero Sugar.\u201d We haven\u2019t seen \u200dan SEC-teamless-Natty since the\u200b inception of the College Football Playoff in 2014. But make no mistake, this wasn\u2019t \u2064a mistake. These \u200btwo teams are elite and both have a roster full of the unteachable intangible \u2014 which is experience.<\/p>\n<p>Now, both identities are polar opposites\u200d \u2014 there\u2019s more than \u200bone way to skin a cat \u2014 but they\u2019re both as deadly\u200b in effectiveness. Before \u200dthe game, I said it was no time to get cute. It was no time to reinvent the wheel. It\u200b was time to dance with the one that\u200c brought you. One, if by ground in\u200c Michigan, and two, if by air in Washington.\u200b I predicted we should have been \u2062in\u2064 for a doozy of a matchup either way, especially in a year where\u200c more teams have been capable of winning the whole thing than ever before. \u200bAnd my hope was that \u2062maybe, just maybe, this year will be the new norm (and not\u2062 just a parody of so-called parity).<\/p>\n<p>Then we all watched Jim Harbaugh and Michigan win the 2024 National Championship. To the Washington\u2062 fans, \u2063players, and everyone associated with the Huskies program, be upset; it\u2019s tough. You don\u2019t know \u200bif you will get back\u200c to this stage. You don\u2019t know if you\u2019re\u200d ever going to get back to this stage. But those \u2064young men have nothing to \u200dbe ashamed of. Michael Penix Jr. did not have his best game last night, but he has nothing to be ashamed of \u200cwhat they accomplished to elevate Washington to\u2064 another National \u200cChampionship \u2014 \u2062the first one since \u20631991. They wanted to win it. No one plays this game to lose. No one puts in all the work\u2063 to finish second, especially with the veterans\u2062 they\u2062 had on this team with \u2062the way they played all\u2063 year. But Kalen DeBoer proved that not only can Washington \u200cget there, but they have the\u200d potential to win.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/show\/crain-and-company\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WATCH: \u2018Crain &#038; Company\u2019 on \u2064DailyWire+<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>This was a\u2063 dog fight.\u200c It showed the type of team, culture, and young men that DeBoer is cultivating. \u200bEarly in the game, it looked like it was going to\u200c snowball, but they were able to\u2063 regroup\u2062 and \u200cstay in the fight \u2014 especially the\u2064 Washington defense. I know at the end it unraveled a bit in the last two possessions, but Washington\u2019s defense kept them in that game. \u2064They showed a ton of fortitude, and this is only just the beginning. I\u2019m excited to see where they go from here.<\/p>\n<p>Typically, each day on our show, I \u200dregale listeners and watchers \u200bwith an epic\u200c monologue that sets up the day, gives hope, happiness, friendship \u2014 all those good feelings. But today\u2019s \u2064a special day after Michigan won the National Championship last night. It makes sense, \u2063then, that I kick it over to \u2062my\u2063 Nephilim friend, six-foot-seven former Michigan quarterback, David Cone.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>David Cone:<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>That\u2019s \u200ca lot to live up to, but today, I\u2019ll speak to the\u200c news of the National Championship. \u200dI\u2019m often asked why I chose to play football at Michigan.\u200d The short answer is: because they gave me a \u2062shot.\u200c And every day since I set foot in\u2063 Ann \u200cArbor, I\u2062 have been proud to be a part of that brotherhood.<\/p>\n<p>It\u200b feels like I speak for many when I say, Michigan ever winning another \u2064championship on\u200c the national stage began\u200d to \u200bfeel unattainable. One reason for\u2064 this is that the Southeastern conference has been the dominant force in this sport for more than a decade. The second reason is that the Buckeyes proved to be the gold standard in our own conference for more than a decade. And then the 2024 season happened.<\/p>\n<p>I want to \u2063speak directly\u2064 to the \u2064players, the coaches, and staff members inside of Schembechler Hall, many of whom I played\u200d with and played for. This is <i>your<\/i> achievement. You\u2019ve \u2062made a lot of people proud along the way, but <i>you<\/i> did this. You just won the first \u2063National Championship in the history of Michigan football. Why \u200bdo I\u2064 say that? Because every title up\u2063 to this point was claimed or awarded by the media\u2063 or by the \u2062coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Not this time. This was <i>won<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>People asked\u2063 all season,\u2062 \u201cWho Michigan had beaten\u201d? The answer is \u200c <i>everyone<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>You beat your rival. You won your conference. \u2062You went toe-to-toe with the greatest coach\u2064 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/college-football-week-eight-recap\/\" title=\"College Football Week Eight Recap\">college football history<\/a>, Nick Saban, and came out on top. Then \u200cyou finished by \u200cholding the most prolific \u200boffense in the country to 13 points. Jim Harbaugh, this \u2064championship is on you, all because when things got tough in 2020, you pointed at yourself and said this isn\u2019t good enough. We haven\u2019t been good enough, but we will be.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever happens to\u2062 this group \u2063in the days and weeks to \u200bcome, just know, we all can\u2019t wait to see what you accomplish next.\u2062 Some of you will \u200bplay \u2062professionally,\u2064 some will start businesses \u2063and become husbands and \u2064fathers.
