Not long\u200c before Christmas, Wisconsin\u2019s leftist chief executive dumped a big lump of coal in the election-integrity stocking. <\/p>\n

Democrat\u200c Gov. Tony Evers vetoed another round of bills passed by the Republican-controlled legislature, bills designed \u200bto check the far-left excesses of the 2020 Covid-plagued election. <\/p>\n

One measure simply required absentee voters to apply for \u201cindefinitely confined\u201d status\u200b as opposed to determining their eligibility by a mere signature. In 2020, \u2064as\u2064 Evers and his army of bureaucrats did everything within their\u2064 power \u200c\u2014 and outside it \u2014 to lock\u2064 down the state, more \u200dthan 220,000 voters claimed they\u200d were \u201cindefinitely confined,\u201d a designation typically\u200c reserved for \u2062obstacles such as age, physical illness, infirmity, or \u2063disability.<\/p>\n

According \u200dto a state Legislative Audit Bureau examination of\u2064 the 2020 election, 169,901 \u200dvoters <\/a>claiming they were indefinitely confined had done so \u200cfor the first time.\u2064 They used\u2064 Covid as their cover. Suffice \u200dto \u200csay, there were abuses. <\/p>\n

Former Democrat State Sen. Patty Schachtner was \u2062actively campaigning for an Assembly\u2063 seat at\u200b the\u2064 time when she claimed she was \u201cindefinitely confined\u201d to her home. Facebook posts showed as much. Schachtner\u2063 lost, but she joined nine \u200bother \u2064electors in casting Wisconsin\u2019s 10 electoral votes for Joe Biden\u2062 following the contentious and\u2063 controversial presidential election, conservative talk show\u2062 host Dan\u2062 O\u2019Donnell reported at the time. O\u2019Donnell reported on dozens of purportedly \u201cconfined\u201d voters enjoying a less-than-cloistered life.<\/p>\n
