This comes after\u200b being barred from \u200ctwo \u2063other states recently.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Attorneys \u200dfrom Free Speech For People \u200bhave filed a lawsuit with the Oregon Supreme Court, \u2064aiming\u200c to prevent Trump from appearing\u2062 on the\u2064 ballot. They \u2064argue that Trump&#8217;s involvement in the\u2063 Capitol riot qualifies as &#8220;engaging in insurrection,&#8221; which would disqualify him from holding office under the 14th\u200c Amendment of the \u2064Constitution.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Last week, Trump&#8217;s legal\u200b team submitted\u2064 a 162-page brief to the Oregon Supreme Court, countering \u200dthe opposition&#8217;s claims. They argue that Trump did \u2064not violate\u2063 Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and that the events of January 6th cannot be classified as an insurrection.<\/p>\n<p>Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade, \u2063a Democrat, previously\u200b stated that she lacks the authority to block Trump from the Republican Party primary \u2064ballot. Trump, who famously refused\u200c to release his tax returns during his presidential campaign and throughout his time in office, did not comply with this \u2064requirement.
