John Fetterman Opens\u200d Up About His Battle\u200d with Depression<\/h2>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/john-fetterman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Fetterman<\/a> (D-PA) is sharing what it is like to have \u201cdark\u201d conversations with one\u2019s self about self-harm after he grappled with depression \u200cearlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>In a \u201cMeet\u2062 the Press\u201d interview that aired on NBC on Sunday, \u2064Fetterman discussed hitting the \u201cemergency break\u201d and getting \u200dtreatment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/politics\/2023\/12\/31\/sen-fetterman-says-he-thought-news-about-his-depression-treatment-would-end-his-political-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the Associated\u2062 Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis \u200dis a conversation that\u2063 I\u2019ve had with myself and anybody that knows \u2062they\u2019re unable to address their \u200bdepression, is they start to have dark\u200c conversations with themself about self-harm,\u201d Fetterman said. \u201cAnd things \u2062continued to kind of tick off the list. And then I kind of hit the emergency brake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fetterman checked into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in February and received treatment for clinical depression after sustaining a stroke \u2062that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/10\/us\/politics\/john-fetterman-senate-stroke.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nearly killed \u200chim<\/a> \u2062 and\u2062 left the senator with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2022-election\/fetterman-no-work-restrictions-auditory-processing-issues-continue-doc-rcna52982\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">auditory processing complications<\/a> during\u200c the 2022\u2062 campaign.
