Beijing&#8217;s military modernization and nuclear\u200d expansion, plus its more aggressive posture toward \u2063Taiwan, \u2062have raised\u200d concerns that China \u2062could try to take Taiwan militarily in\u2063 the coming\u200d years.<\/p>\n<h3>Project Dynamo: Rescuing Americans Worldwide<\/h3>\n<p>Project Dynamo is a nonprofit organization made up of former U.S. military and intelligence officials who came together in August \u20632021 to rescue \u200cAmericans who \u200cwere unable to leave \u200bAfghanistan before the military\u200c withdrew at the end of the\u2063 month and were \u2062essentially left behind. Since then, they have continued their effort to rescue Americans that the U.S. military was\u200c not \u200bplanning on saving \u200bat\u200c that\u200d time in countries across \u2062the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think the answer is maybe, or it depends,&#8221; Bryan\u200b Stern, a combat veteran and \u200cthe founder of Project \u200cDynamo,\u2063 told the Washington\u200c Examiner when asked\u200b if they&#8217;d carry out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illegal-immigration-reaches-near-historic-high-1-million-border-crossings-this-year-and-counting\/\" title=\"Illegal Immigration Reaches Near-Historic High: 1 Million Border Crossings This Year (and Counting)\">rescue missions<\/a> \u2062in\u200b mainland China as well as \u2063Taiwan. &#8220;I \u2063think it \u200cremains to\u200c be seen if Americans are \u200dstuck\u2062 and \u2064we\u200d can get them out from wherever they are&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;There&#8217;s a\u200c lot more Americans in China than \u200dthere are in\u2064 Taiwan, \u2063even though there&#8217;s \u2064plenty in Taiwan. \u200dIf you&#8217;re an American\u2062 in China [when the war starts], it&#8217;s \u200calso going to be a crummy day. You \u200dknow what I mean? It&#8217;s not just about\u2063 Taiwan.\u200d Mainland China is\u200c pretty rough, too. The way we&#8217;re \u200dkind of\u2062 conceptualizing it\u2062 is\u2062 what do we do for Americans that\u200c are in\u200b mainland China, where the Americans won&#8217;t be the most\u2062 popular team\u2064 in town on that day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Project \u2064Dynamo\u200b has coined\u200c the \u200cmission name &#8220;Marco \u2063Polo&#8221; for\u2063 potential rescues in Taiwan and \u200dChina. They have rescued more than 6,000 people from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia, Sudan, Israel, Gaza, Maui\u200c after\u2064 the wildfires, and Florida after Hurricane Ian in the less than three years they\u2019ve operated.<\/p>\n<p>The group operates\u2063 entirely on a donation basis\u2063 and does not receive any government funding. The group does not want to interfere\u200c with any U.S. military or intelligence mission, so it asks the government if\u2064 it \u200ccan proceed\u200b with an operation \u2062beforehand, and in every case, Stern said, the administration \u200dgave the group the green light.<\/p>\n<h3>Tensions Between\u200d the U.S. and China<\/h3>\n<p>President Joe Biden met with Chinese leader\u200d Xi Jinping on the\u200b sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit\u200b in October in \u200dwhat was billed \u2063as a chance to simmer the growing tension between the two adversaries. The leaders \u200bagreed to restart military-to-military communications after Beijing \u2062cut\u200b them off in August of last year in response to then-House \u200bSpeaker Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s (D-CA) visit to Taiwan. Gen. Charles Q. Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, met\u200d virtually with his Chinese counterpart, Gen.\u2064 Liu Zhenli, last week, ending that freeze about two \u200cmonths after the leaders&#8217; meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Xi told Biden] \u200dthat Beijing will reunify Taiwan\u200b with mainland China but that\u2063 the timing has not yet been decided,\u201d NBC News\u200d reported, citing\u200b three sources\u2063 familiar with the conversation. \u201cChinese officials also asked\u200c in advance of the summit that\u200c Biden make a public statement after the \u2064meeting saying that \u200dthe United States supports China\u2019s goal of peaceful unification with \u2062Taiwan and does not support \u200bTaiwanese \u2062independence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2063 did not follow through with the request.<\/p>\n<p>Xi said at last year\u2019s\u200c Chinese \u2063Communist Party Congress that they would attack Taiwan if the island nation of roughly 24 million people declares independence with\u2062 foreign support.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has said multiple times during his administration that the U.S. military would defend Taiwan if \u2063China invaded, which would represent a\u200b shift in U.S. policy, but the White House has walked back his comments each time.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What are \u200bthe potential challenges and risks that Project Dynamo \u200bmay face during rescue missions in Taiwan and mainland China?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Fall of 2021.
