This marks the first successful challenge from \u200dgroups seeking to hinder Trump&#8217;s reelection campaign.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;President Trump did not\u2063 merely incite the insurrection,&#8221; wrote the majority \u2064of\u200c Colorado&#8217;s high court. &#8220;Even when the siege on the Capitol was\u2062 fully underway, he continued to support it \u200bby repeatedly demanding that Vice President [Mike] Pence refuse to perform his constitutional duty and by \u2063calling Senators \u200bto persuade them to stop the counting of electoral votes. These\u2062 actions constituted overt, voluntary, and \u2064direct participation in the \u2062insurrection.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, this ruling is expected to be taken\u2064 to the Supreme Court of \u200dthe United States\u200d for a\u2062 final decision. \u200dTrump has until Jan. 4, 2024, to \u2062make his appeal, just one day before\u200c the state&#8217;s deadline \u2064to finalize the list of candidates for the GOP primary, scheduled for March 5.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of similar cases are seeking to replicate\u200c the Colorado ruling,\u200c potentially causing a\u2063 political headache for \u200cTrump. The Supreme Court \u200dhas never before ruled\u2062 on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, but \u200cthat is likely to change next year. \u2064If the court\u200d declines to take up the\u2064 case or upholds\u2063 the Colorado ruling, Trump\u2064 will be removed from \u2063primary ballots in that state.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This\u200d pathetic gambit to rig the Election has failed all across \u200dthe Country, including in States that have <a title=\"RNC starts early voting drive in NY.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rnc-launches-early-voting-initiative-in-new-york\/\">historically leaned heavily<\/a> toward the Democrats,&#8221; Trump\u200d expressed his frustration on Truth Social. &#8220;Colorado is the only State to have fallen\u2064 prey to the scheme.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite these legal challenges, GOP strategists and Trump allies remain confident that his campaign will benefit\u200b from\u200c the \u200csituation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think that \u200dwhat the extreme\u200d Left\u200c is doing here is political manna from heaven for Trump,&#8221; said Gregg \u200cKeller, a \u200dRepublican consultant. &#8220;The\u2063 only states that\u2064 are taking this on are states\u2062 that are completely in the thrall of the radical judicial Left.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There are indications that California, another blue-leaning state similar to\u200d Colorado, may also \u200cattempt to \u200bremove Trump from its primary ballot. Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis \u2063(D-CA) recently called for Secretary of State Shirley Weber, a\u2064 Democrat, to explore \u2063&#8221;every legal option&#8221; to \u2064exclude Trump. Additionally, a \u200dpending case from Free Speech For People is awaiting a decision from the Oregon Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s legal team has even requested that Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows recuse herself from deciding his ballot eligibility, claiming bias against him.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the Supreme Court will\u2063 likely have the final say on whether Trump&#8217;s actions on \u2062Jan. 6, 2021,\u200d violated\u200c the 14th\u200d Amendment.
