Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for president, Bird made\u200c the decision that Trump was the best man for the job and endorsed the onetime president.<\/p>\n<h3>Desantis Campaign on the Brink as Iowa Caucuses\u200d Near<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI think\u2064 that President Trump is\u2063 the one\u200b who&#8217;s going to defeat Biden\u200c and\u200b win our\u200b country back,\u201d Bird said in \u200dan interview in early December. &#8220;And we were all a lot better off in Iowa when Donald Trump was president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bird, who is in her first term as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-ag-barr-authorizes-federal-prosecutors-to-pursue-substantial-allegations-of-voting-irregularities-before-2020-election-is-certified\/\" title=\"BREAKING: AG Barr Authorizes Federal Prosecutors to Pursue \"Substantial Allegations\" of Voting Irregularities Before 2020 Election is Certified\">attorney general<\/a>, won the election by \u200cbeating the incumbent who had served\u200b in the role for nearly 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>She has traveled the state \u200dand said that\u2062 support for Trump is strong, even with DeSantis getting \u2063the governor\u2019s endorsement and spending much time there. And\u200c the polls reflect this just a\u200b few \u2062weeks ahead of the Iowa caucuses, which will take place on Jan. 15.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u2063FiveThirtyEight\u2019s polling average for \u2063the\u2064 Iowa caucus, Trump is at <strong>50%<\/strong>, with DeSantis\u200c quite a bit behind him at <strong>18.4%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see strong support for President Trump all over Iowa, and I think it&#8217;s because \u2064of his record and people know \u200cwhat he\u200c did as president, and they want \u2062that back again. So he&#8217;s got broad \u200csupport from \u200call\u2062 kinds of people,\u201d Bird said. \u201cIowans\u2062 are really excited about\u200c President \u200cTrump\u2064 and are going\u2063 to caucus for\u2064 him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To her, the main difference between Trump and the\u2064 other candidates is the track record he already has, having served as president for four years, whereas the other candidates \u2064do not have that track record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump brings a \u2064track record of showing what he would do as president, and people\u2063 want what they had when President Trump was president,\u201d Bird said. \u201cThey know that he knows how\u200c to govern, that he \u200bknows how to take \u2062on the swamp and do \u2064what&#8217;s right and stand \u2062up for America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She \u200dbelieves that Iowans are looking for someone who will \u201crespect their constitutional freedoms and who will\u2064 uphold the Constitution\u201d and that Trump is the \u200dcandidate \u2064who will do just that.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u2062Trump has faced major\u2063 legal challenges which could have the \u2063potential \u2062to \u2062upend his bid. In Colorado, the state&#8217;s Supreme Court ruled to throw Trump off its\u200c primary ballot over his actions on and around Jan. 6, 2021. Similar challenges have been filed in other\u200c states, but Colorado was the first state in which the effort was successful.<\/p>\n<p>He is also facing charges\u2062 connected \u2064to his handling of classified documents after \u200dleaving office and another connected to his \u200brole in the\u2064 Jan. 6 insurrection of \u200cthe Capitol. State charges in Georgia have also been filed against Trump connected to \u2063his attempt to overturn the election \u200dresults in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Since Bird endorsed\u200c him, she has led a \u200bmultistate brief in opposition to\u200b Trump\u2019s\u2064 gag order and\u2064 has been a staunch defender of him \u2063as he faces numerous legal cases.<\/p>\n<p>As a prosecutor, Bird said\u2064 she has worked hand\u2063 in hand with the FBI to put \u200dcriminals away\u200c and \u2064believes those in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/grand-scale-tens-of-thousands-of-illegal-aliens-being-released-into-u-s-ex-ice-official-says\/\" title=\"\u2018Grand Scale\u2019: Tens Of Thousands Of Illegal Aliens Being Released Into U.S., Ex-ICE Official Says\">local field offices<\/a> are \u201cexcellent,\u201d but the \u201cD.C. office of the FBI has very serious that have\u2062 to be addressed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She strayed away\u2064 from answering whether, as a prosecutor, the charges against Trump worry her at all and instead\u2062 criticized\u2064 what she believes to\u2064 be a \u200bpoliticization of the Justice Department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a prosecutor,\u200c I believe \u200cthat \u200bpolitics has absolutely no place in prosecutions that&#8217;s wrong,\u201d she said when \u200dasked\u200b if the charges worry \u200bher. \u201cI never prosecuted someone based on their political beliefs. I \u2064would never\u200b do that. However, she believes that his \u2062lack of experience in a national\u2062 leadership role is a drawback.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernor DeSantis has done \u2064great things in Florida, but we haven&#8217;t seen what he can do\u2062 on a national level,\u201d Bird said.\u200c \u201cI think it&#8217;s important \u200bto\u200d have someone with experience in the White\u200b House,\u2062 someone who knows the ropes \u2063and can handle\u2062 the pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Iowa caucuses draw\u2063 near, Bird is confident that Trump will\u2063 come out on top. She believes that his strong\u2063 support \u200band track record will resonate with the voters, and that his ability to connect with everyday Americans sets him apart from \u200bthe other candidates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump speaks directly to the American people. He understands their concerns and \u2062fights\u200c for\u200c their interests,\u201d Bird said. \u200d\u201cHe \u200chas a \u2063vision for our country that resonates with ordinary Americans, and that&#8217;s why\u200b I believe he is the best candidate to\u2064 beat Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the endorsement \u200bfrom the Iowa Republican Attorney General, Trump still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sam-bankman-fried-upset-after-jail-refuses-to-accommodate-vegan-diet-adhd-meds-report\/\" title=\"Sam Bankman-Fried disappointed as jail denies vegan diet and ADHD meds, says report.\">faces challenges ahead<\/a>. He \u2062will need to build\u2063 on his support and address any concerns or criticisms that may arise during the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>But Bird remains steadfast in her belief that Trump is the best\u200c person for the job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have faith in the \u200bAmerican people.
