However,\u2063 thanks to the efforts of a handful of \u200bscientists\u200b throughout \u2062the\u200c world, these \u200cunique birds could return back to\u200b earth.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/world-health-org-declares-monkeypox-a-global-emergency\/\" title=\"World Health Org Declares Monkeypox a Global Emergency\">biotech company based<\/a> in Dallas, Texas, <a href=\"https:\/\/colossal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colossal Biosciences<\/a>, \u200brecently declared\u2063 that\u2063 it was going to \u201cde-extinct\u201d the dodo bird. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to this plan, the biotechnology \u2063and genetic engineering company is currently\u200b working on projects to bring \u2062back the Thylacine (Tasmanian \u200btiger) and the Mammuthus primigenius (Wooly mammoth). <\/p>\n<p>Colossal has launched a partnership with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation \u2063and both\u2062 groups are currently working to find a safe and \u2062proficient location for the dodo birds\u200c to reside. The aim of the project is to re-introduce \u2062the bird to \u200dits\u200c native habitat in\u2063 Mauritius. <\/p>\n<p>According \u2063to the company\u2019s previous projects, massive\u200c advancements in genetic engineering, artificial wombs, animal husbandry, and\u200b stem \u2063cell \u2062biology are\u200c required to bring back the \u200cdodo\u2062 bird. <\/p>\n<p>However, it \u200cis impossible to\u200d accurately predict if\u2064 these birds would be able to survive after more \u2062than three centuries in wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>The dodo bird\u2063 has \u200cbeen extinct since 1681 due to a mix \u200bof human-introduced \u2064animals and predation, \u2062making its extinction case study \u2063quite unique. However, the partners \u2063believe that the \u2064dodo\u2019s \u200bimmediate surroundings and other species may benefit from its \u2064return to Mauritian Wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2023, Colossal initially declared its decision to revive the dodo.
