With five \u2064wins under his belt, he retired in 1974, only \u2062to \u200breturn over two \u200bdecades later to create his own racing team alongside his son Tony\u200d Schumacher. Schumacher Racing has since become the most successful team in NHRA history.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>A Driven\u200c Force in Racing<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;If I had to describe Don in one\u2063 word, it\u2063 would be &#8216;driven.&#8217; He \u200dapproached everything he was passionate about with unwavering determination, whether it was\u2062 family, business, racing, or\u200c even \u200bfishing,&#8221; said \u200bNHRA \u2064announcer Alan Reinhart. &#8220;Not\u200c only was he a fierce competitor, but he also worked tirelessly to \u200bensure the sport thrived. Don&#8217;s influence on the track, in \u200cterms of safety, technology, and excellence, cannot be overstated.\u2064 He was a true champion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Don Schumacher&#8217;s impact extended far beyond the racing world.\u200c In addition to his achievements on the\u2063 track, he founded Schumacher Electric, a\u200d company that produces a wide\u2062 range of battery chargers, testers, maintainers, \u200cjump starters, portable \u2062power solutions, and\u2064 electric vehicle charging\u2063 equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The NHRA President, Glen\u200c Cromwell, expressed his condolences, stating, &#8220;Don&#8217;s passion for racing, \u2062commitment to\u200d safety, and remarkable achievements as both a driver and team owner will \u2063forever be remembered.
