Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/writers-strike-could-be-ending-as-wga-reaches-tentative-deal-with-studios\/\" title=\"Writers' strike may end as WGA reaches deal with studios.\">demands include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congressional-budget-office-minimum-wage-hike-would-cost-1-4-million-jobs\/\" title=\"Congressional Budget Office: Minimum Wage Hike Would Cost 1.4 Million Jobs\">higher wages<\/a><\/a>, more mental health\u2064 counselors \u200cat schools, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-gives-state-employees-paid-family-and-maternal-leave-in-florida\/\" title=\"DeSantis grants paid family and maternal leave to Florida state employees.\">paid\u2063 parental leave<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The California Faculty Association (CFA) recently voted to authorize \u2064a strike that will have \u200ca\u200c significant impact. From\u2062 January 22 to January 26, the entire\u200b state university system will be shut \u200bdown. This \u2063follows a\u200b previous targeted\u200d strike\u200d in San Francisco,\u2063 Los Angeles, Pomona, and Sacramento.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cOur members \u200drefuse to give\u200b in to what they know is beneath their\u200c worth,\u201d said Charles Toombs, the president of\u200b the CFA. \u2063\u201cUnlike\u200d management, we are\u200c unwilling\u200c to be complicit in the harming \u2063of our\u200c colleagues, students, and staff. Our commitment to\u200d one another is unshakeable.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The\u2062 union is not only \u2064bargaining for increased salaries but also advocating for equity, access, belonging, and the honoring\u200c of all student, faculty, and staff identities.\u2062 They aim to uplift\u2063 and embrace all lived experiences while addressing\u2062 long-standing racial, gender, and social \u2062inequities.<\/p>\n<p>The strike will also involve the Teamsters\u200b union, which represents staff employees in\u200b the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-desantis-board-sinks-woke-navy-admirals-bid-for-universitys-presidency\/\" title=\"Pro-DeSantis board rejects woke Navy admiral's presidency bid.\">university \u2062system<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The strikes are\u2064 dependent \u200bon whether our CFA \u200bBargaining Team\u2019s \u2062upcoming\u200c meetings with CSU management on January 8, 9,\u2064 11, and 12 will bear fruit,&#8221; stated the union in a press release. &#8220;They\u2063 can, at any time, prevent a strike by offering us a fair contract.
