The girl, referred to as G.M. in court documents, had reportedly expressed identifying as a boy during a meeting with a school counselor earlier that \u200cyear.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe Meads were stunned when\u2062 they discovered that the District had\u2014without seeking their consent and while actively concealing information from them\u2014begun to treat G.M. as a boy, referring to her with male pronouns and a masculine name \u2063at school,\u201d the lawsuit\u200b says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs \u2064directed by the District\u2019s\u200d policy, District employees\u2014employees\u200c the Meads had trusted with sensitive information about G.M.\u2019s mental health\u2014deliberately changed G.M.\u2019s school records to conceal the fact that the District was treating their daughter as a boy \u2063without their knowledge,\u201d the complaint \u2062added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rockford, a conservative city just north of Grand Rapids, is accused of \u200bembracing radical gender theories and violating the \u200bMeads&#8217; religious beliefs and parental rights, according to Alliance Defending \u2062Freedom.
