The complaint alleges that Jackson did not report some of her husband&#8217;s income for more than a decade. The letter urges the group to refer the matter to Attorney General Merrick Garland to begin an ethics investigation. <\/p>\n<p> WORLD&#8217;S TWO MOST IMPORTANT SHIPPING CANALS NOW FACING SERIOUS DELAYS <\/p>\n<p> The letter claims that Jackson &#8220;repeatedly failed to disclose that her husband received income from medical malpractice consulting fees.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p> &#8220;We know this by Justice Jackson\u2019s own admission in her amended disclosure form for 2020, filed when she was nominated to the Supreme Court, that \u2018some of my previously filed reports inadvertently omitted&#8217; her husband\u2019s income from \u2018consulting on medical malpractice cases,\u2019&#8221; it continues. <\/p>\n<p> The letter says that Jackson gave &#8220;the vague statement that &#8216;some&#8217; of those past disclosures contained material omissions.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p> The question at hand is whether the income&#8217;s lack of disclosure violates the law that federal judges are required to disclose the &#8220;source of items of earned income earned by a spouse from any person which exceed $1,000 \u2026 except \u2026 if the spouse is self-employed in business or a profession, only the nature of such business or profession needs be reported.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p> CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER <\/p>\n<p> The complaint also noted what it called violations regarding receiving gifts, noting Jackson&#8217;s &#8220;disturbing trend of not reporting material sources of income and gifts&#8221; has &#8220;shielded potential conflicts of interest from public scrutiny and undermined the ability of the public, outside watchdog groups, and parties to scrutinize her recusal decisions.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The ethics of Supreme Court justices have come under intense scrutiny this year after reports revealed extensive gift-receiving from Justice Clarence Thomas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the target of an ethics complaint regarding her husband&#8217;s income.
