But the newest doesn\u2019t even make any sense.<\/p>\n<p>In a new five-person-bylined article, \u200danti-Supreme Court outfit ProPublica takes a decades-old\u2064 offhand complaint the justice made about his salary\u2064 and \u200bspins it into a nefarious conspiracy. In 2000, Thomas apparently groused about his pay to \u201cvocal conservative\u201d Rep. Cliff Stearns.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This interaction, we are informed, \u201cset off a flurry of activity\u200d across the judiciary and Capitol\u200b Hill.\u201d By \u201cflurry of activity,\u201d ProPublica means a single memo in which the possibility\u200c of \u2063raising justices\u2019 \u200bsalaries was discussed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Like all \u2063SCOTUS \u200csmears, the piece \u200bis\u2062 loaded with performative journalistic jargon \u200c\u2014 \u201cnewly unearthed documents,\u201d for instance \u2014 meant to make it look like ProPublica is engaging in acts of reporting rather than activism.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas,\u2062 for \u200bexample, doesn\u2019t\u200c merely have rich friends like every other important person in D.C., he hangs out with a \u201ccoterie of ultrarich men.\u201d Thomas doesn\u2019t attend policy gatherings like\u2063 every other\u2064 important person \u200cin Washington, he jets off \u200bto \u201coff-the-record\u201d conferences at a \u201cfive-star beach resort\u201d and sails on a \u201c162-foot yacht\u201d \u2014 alternatively known as a \u200c\u201csuperyacht.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Painting completely innocuous and standard behavior as\u2063 weird \u200dand scurrilous is a hallmark of the constant effort to smear \u2063Thomas. Hey, look at Thomas and his \u2064\u201chigh-end RV\u201d and look at that \u201celite circle\u201d he\u2019s running with. Oh, sure, \u200dthey\u200c give\u2063 out\u2062 scholarships \u2064to thousands of \u200bkids, but everyone knows what it\u2019s really about: \u2062Thomas is a puppet \u200cof <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/racial-advocacy-group-to-white-texas-parents-sign-our-pledge-not-to-send-your-kids-to-ivy-league-schools-or-well-doxx-you\/\" title=\"Racial Advocacy Group To White Texas Parents: Sign Our Pledge Not To Send Your Kids To Ivy League Schools Or We\u2019ll Doxx You\">wealthy white folks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPrecisely what led so\u2064 many\u2062 people to offer Thomas money and other gifts remains an open question,\u201d\u200c notes \u2062ProPublica. This is the\u200d key sentence in the \u200darticle. What \u201cprecisely\u201d led anti-SCOTUS\u200b dark \u2062money groups\u200c to send ProPublica millions is \u200b <em>not<\/em> an open question.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Innuendo masquerading as\u2062 reporting \u200bis the point. Its purposeful implication is\u2062 that Thomas\u200c can be bought. By my\u200d estimation, at least two-thirds of the article rehashes the outlet\u2019s previous stories about \u2063Thomas\u2019s relationship \u200cwith Harlan Crow, who never \u200chad a case in front of the \u200djustice.<\/p>\n<p>The hit lacks any evidence Thomas engaged in \u200cunethical behavior\u2063 to benefit anyone, much less himself. Nothing prohibits justices\u2063 from attending conferences. Nothing prohibits them from having\u200d friends. Nothing prohibits them from taking out loans to buy a \u2062house or\u200b an RV. Nothing\u200b prohibits them from whining\u200d about their salaries. If anything, the story only confirms\u2062 that Thomas, \u2063one\u2064 of the\u200b least wealthy members\u2064 of\u200b the court, would rather grouse about a\u200c lack of \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/i-was-at-a-great-disadvantage-bryce-dallas-howard-discusses-being-paid-so-much-less-than-chris-pratt-for-jurassic-world\/\" title=\"\u2018I Was At A Great Disadvantage\u2019: Bryce Dallas Howard Discusses Being Paid \u2018So Much Less\u2019 Than Chris Pratt For \u2018Jurassic World\u2019\">money-making opportunities<\/a> than seek\u2063 them out\u2064 unethically.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s also important to remember that no single story about \u201cconservative\u201d SCOTUS \u2064justices really matters \u200bin\u2063 and\u2062 of itself. The quality of the journalism isn\u2019t the\u200c point. \u200bThe quality\u2063 sucks. The point \u200cis\u2062 flooding the zone.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Much like the Russia collusion \u2064hoax,\u200d this is\u2063 a compounding smear. The \u2064point\u2064 is to sell the effort as an emerging\u2064 story and organic journalism. The \u2064payoff never comes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It all allows establishment \u200cmedia outlets to \u200bcasually mention \u2062the \u201cethics\u201d \u201ccontroversies\u201d that \u2064\u201csurround\u201d or \u200d\u201cswirl around\u201d Thomas. It allows anti-court pundits, who have no \u2064problem with Justices \u2062Sonia \u200bSotomayor\u2064 and Ketanji Brown\u2062 Jackson pulling in millions\u200d in book deals from billion-dollar corporate\u2064 entities, \u2064to pretend that \u201cdemocracy\u201d is under \u200cthreat from the court. It \u200dallows \u2064half-wit senators to \u200cspin\u2062 conspiracy \u2062theories and thousands \u2062of full-blown nitwits\u200c to get \u201cClarence Thomas\u201d trending \u2063on X. It helps Democrats \u2063delegitimize the high court, the purpose of the entire project.<\/p>\n<p>All non-leftist \u2063justices have been the target of these sloppy hits, but there is a fervent disdain for Thomas, who\u2019s committed\u200d the gravest sin of \u2064defying the left\u2019s racial stereotypes. He\u200c shows contempt for a media \u2064that\u2019s been trying\u200b to destroy him\u2062 for more than\u2063 30 years by remaining consistently\u2064 \u201cconservative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His enemies have yet to offer any instance where this justice has deviated from \u200chis\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/politico-run-hits-piece-on-neil-gorsuch-in-latest-attempt-to-delegitimize-scotus\/\" title=\"Politico Run Hits Piece on Neil Gorsuch in Latest Attempt to Delegitimize SCOTUS\">long-held legal philosophy<\/a> of adherence to the Constitution as written. And that\u2019s the real problem.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How does ProPublica attempt to \u2064portray Clarence Thomas&#8217;s associations with wealthy friends as a scandal?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Ibits them from having\u2064 friends who happen\u2064 to be wealthy. Yet, ProPublica \u200ctries to paint these innocent associations as some sort of scandal.<\/p>\n<p>It is not surprising that ProPublica is targeting Thomas. He is a conservative justice who has consistently upheld the Constitution and the principles of limited government. This\u2063 makes him an enemy of the progressive left, who seek\u2063 to use the judiciary as a means to push their agenda.<\/p>\n<p>But the smear campaign against Thomas goes beyond mere political differences. It is a personal attack on a man who has devoted his life to public service and the pursuit of \u2062justice. \u2064Thomas grew up in poverty and overcame incredible obstacles to become one of the most respected\u200c jurists in the country. Yet, his achievements are belittled and \u2064his character is assassinated in an attempt to discredit him.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, this is not the first time Thomas has been subjected to baseless attacks. During his confirmation hearings in 1991, \u2062he was falsely accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill.\u200b Despite the lack of evidence and the inconsistencies\u2064 in Hill&#8217;s testimony, Thomas&#8217;s reputation was tarnished \u200dand his nomination to the\u2063 Supreme Court was nearly derailed.<\/p>\n<p>But Thomas refused to be silenced. He weathered the storm and has continued to serve on the Court with integrity and a commitment to upholding the Constitution. He has been a staunch defender of individual \u2062liberty and the rights of the accused, \u2064often writing powerful and dissenting opinions that challenge the status quo.<\/p>\n<p>It is this principled stance that makes Thomas a target. The left cannot tolerate a conservative justice \u2064who is unafraid to challenge their ideological agenda. So, they resort to smears and character assassination in an attempt to undermine his credibility.<\/p>\n<p>But Thomas \u200dremains undeterred. He knows that the\u200d truth will prevail \u2062and that history will vindicate him. Despite the constant attacks,\u200d he continues to work diligently to interpret \u200cthe law and uphold the principles that have made\u2062 this \u200bcountry great.<\/p>\n<p>It is time to put an end to the smear campaign against Clarence Thomas. It is time to recognize and appreciate his contributions to the Supreme Court and to the cause of justice. It is time to reject\u2063 the baseless \u200daccusations and \u2062focus on the real issues that impact our nation.<\/p>\n<p>The integrity of the Supreme Court is too important to be undermined by petty politics and personal vendettas.\u2062 Clarence Thomas \u200ddeserves our respect and admiration, not baseless attacks and unfounded accusations.<\/p>\n<p>Let us stand with Clarence Thomas and defend his legacy as \u200done of the greatest justices in\u200c the history of the Supreme Court.
