Along with five others, Rubio \u200bwas\u200b found \u2063to \u2062have voted in both D.C. and \u2064Maryland during the 2020 election.\u2064 Despite\u2064 her excuse that she didn&#8217;t think it was illegal because\u200b D.C.\u200c is not a state, her actions should disqualify her from being an elected official.<\/p>\n<p>Both \u200cMaryland and D.C. \u200daward electoral votes\u200c to presidential candidates, even though D.C. is not a state. However, this does \u200bnot make Rubio&#8217;s actions \u2063any less illegal.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Elected D.C. official \u2014 and\u2062 five others \u2014 \u200cfined \u200dfor voting in both D.C. and Maryland in \u200c2020<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u2064RNC Research<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The District of Columbia Board of Elections discovered evidence that Rubio had cast ballots in both jurisdictions. Despite initially claiming she didn&#8217;t \u2064recall \u2062voting in Maryland, \u2064she\u200d eventually admitted to it \u2064when presented with\u200c evidence. Overall, 21 percent of those who used\u200d mail-in ballots confessed to\u2064 some form of \u2064fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Rubio&#8217;s case \u2064is \u200cnot an isolated incident. Another politician, Kim Phuong Taylor, was recently convicted on 52 counts of voter fraud in Iowa.
