Again, \u2062no need\u2063 to change the \u2062law, just have your people enforce\u200c the policies you choose and leave \u2064no resources to enforce the laws you want ignored. This has become a powerful weapon in recent years.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The Case of \u2064Kate \u200bCox<\/h3>\n<p>Cox would like an abortion, but she lives in Texas \u200dwhere abortion is \u200billegal unless your life is \u2062in danger. Cox\u2019s unborn baby suffers from Trisomy 18, also called \u201cEdward\u2019s Syndrome,\u201d where her baby has a \u200dsmall chance of surviving past infancy. Although her baby has a very\u200d small \u200bchance\u2063 at survival, the people of Texas\u200d have made their will clear and\u2062 have voted to protect any chance of the\u2062 baby\u2019s survival.<\/p>\n<p>Not everyone has been honest about this fact.\u200d Ann Coulter, for example, received an extremely sharp\u2064 rebuke from\u2062 Rick Santorum when \u200dshe posted, \u201cTrisomy 18 \u200bis not a condition \u200dthat is compatible with life.\u201d Santorum showed the absurdity of\u200c this statement\u200d by \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RickSantorum\/status\/1734707424693559670\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">answering<\/a> with a picture of his 13-year-old daughter who \u2062has this condition.<\/p>\n<p>I have delivered babies with \u2062Trisomy\u200d 18 \u200band have had to counsel \u2064mothers\u200c pregnant with \u200dthese babies. This\u200c is \u200da life-changing diagnosis. But medically speaking,\u200b to say children with\u200b Trisomy 18\u200b have\u200d no chance of \u2063life is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brian-kemp-is-a-liar-former-gop-rep-david-jolly-said-georgias-governor-is-misleading-people-on-election-law\/\" title=\"\u2018Brian Kemp Is A Liar\u2019: Former GOP Rep. The actual\u200b percent \u2063of \u200cthese babies that would survive to adulthood is impossible to \u2062calculate \u2014 \u200bthe \u200dhigh rate of their early abortion\u2064 precludes this \u2014 other than\u200b to say survival to adulthood is very low.\u2062 The best <a href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/diseases\/22172-edwards-syndrome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">estimates<\/a> we have state that less\u2064 than 40 percent of these\u2062 babies will survive \u2062their first month of life, and that less than 10 \u2063percent survive to \u200ctheir \u2063first birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Cox \u2064could have quietly driven to another state to abort her child,\u200d but she\u2063 isn\u2019t\u2063 just interested in termination, she\u2019s interested \u2064in\u200c twisting the \u200bsituation for political gain. She claims \u2063her life or fertility\u2064 is in danger to make a point about what is legal and illegal in Texas and doesn\u2019t care \u2062what the people or duly\u200d elected representatives\u200c of those people think.<\/p>\n<h3>The \u200dDoctor&#8217;s Role<\/h3>\n<p>Cox also has a \u200cdoctor that \u200cis \u200da party to the case. Her \u200bobstetrician, Damla Karsan, is willing to <a href=\"https:\/\/reproductiverights.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Cox-v.-Texas-original-petition-FINAL-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">say<\/a> \u2062under oath that \u201ca\u200b D&#038;E abortion\u200d is medically recommended,\u201d but will not go as far as to say that it is necessary to\u2063 protect Cox\u2019s life or \u200dhealth. For this\u2063 very reason, the case was overturned by the \u2062Texas Supreme\u200d Court,\u200c as it <a href=\"https:\/\/caselaw.findlaw.com\/court\/tx-supreme-court\/115600222.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stated<\/a>, \u201cThe statute\u200d requires that judgment\u2063 be a \u2018reasonable medical\u2019 judgment, and Dr. (Damla) Karsan has\u2062 not asserted\u2063 that\u200b her \u2018good faith belief\u2019 about Ms. \u200dCox\u2019s condition meets that standard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a very important\u2063 point that Cox cannot find a doctor who \u200bis \u2063willing to say that her\u200b pregnancy caused \u201ca serious risk \u200cof substantial impairment \u2064of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-abbott-signs-bill-banning-abortions-if-roe-v-wade-is-overturned\/\" title=\"Gov. Abbott Signs Bill Banning Abortions If Roe V. Wade Is Overturned\">major bodily function<\/a>.\u201d \u200cIf she could, under Texas \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/statutes.capitol.texas.gov\/Docs\/HS\/htm\/HS.170A.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">law<\/a> (\u00a7170A.002(b)(2)), it would actually be enough if the doctor\u2062 included this in \u2064his or\u200d her \u201creasonable\u2064 medical judgment\u201d to \u2063make the abortion a valid\u2063 exception to\u2062 the ban. It would\u2062 not be necessary \u200cto prove anything\u2064 further.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, even if the Texas Medical\u2062 Board\u200b then convened to remove the physician\u2019s license for extreme incompetence, the doctor \u2063would still be protected by the law for performing the abortion\u2062 because he or she\u200b believed these \u2064facts to be true at\u200b the time.\u200c I think it is a benefit to the citizens of Texas that no doctor who is this delusional is currently practicing in the \u2062Lone Star State.<\/p>\n<h3>The Truth About Cox&#8217;s Health<\/h3>\n<p>Further, Cox knows her life is not in danger. <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/29045299\/#:~:text=The%20US%20cesarean%20delivery%20rate,substantial%20challenges%20to%20their%20resurgence.\">Cesarean sections account<\/a> \u2064 for \u200b32 percent of deliveries in the\u200d U.S. Having prior cesarean sections\u200b does not \u2064constitute \u200da significant risk\u200b to her\u200c life. This includes the\u200d risk of uterine rupture and \u2064the risk of losing her fertility\u2063 from\u2063 an emergency hysterectomy. I routinely perform\u2063 cesarean \u2063sections and\u2062 have never had such a complication. Women have repeat cesarean \u2063sections and vaginal births after cesarean\u200c sections every\u200d day. Furthermore,\u2063 with such a high rate of\u200c cesarean sections, if the Texas Legislature \u2064wanted \u201cprior\u200d cesarean \u2063sections\u201d to be an exception, they would have put it in the law.<\/p>\n<h3>The Battle\u2064 Against Texas Laws<\/h3>\n<p>At \u2064the \u2063heart of this matter, Cox (and her enablers) want\u2063 to eliminate\u2064 the Texas laws governing\u2062 abortion. They want\u200c to throw out the will of the Texas Legislature and the will of the people. They want to go around the rule of law to make the world work the way they want.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for Cox, unlike Lloyd\u2064 Austin\u200c and Joe Biden, she \u200cdoes not have \u200bthe resources of a fully functioning and \u200dcompletely corrupt Department of Justice at \u200bher \u2063disposal. Cox resides in\u200d a state \u2062that understands\u200c that electively killing an unborn \u2063baby \u200dwhen a mother\u2019s life is not \u200bin\u2064 danger is not \u2064medical care. \u200dAs a board-certified obstetrician, I wholeheartedly\u2062 agree with this assessment. This is why she lost her case.<\/p>\n<p>Now\u2062 that she\u2019s \u2064lost, \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/news\/dallas-mother-kate-cox-to-leave-texas-to-have-an-abortion-18093826\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">she has stated\u2062 that she will\u2064 be\u2063 leaving Texas to receive the \u2062abortion in another \u2064state,<\/a> an option \u200dshe\u2064 has had\u2063 the whole time. There will be no penalties for \u2062wasting the time or money\u2063 of the Texas \u200bcourts. She has received\u200b an unbelievably\u2063 favorable portrayal\u200b by the\u200d corporate\u200d media as a martyr, and of course, the defenseless baby with Trisomy 18 will \u200cbe\u200c (or\u200b already has been) \u2062killed and cheated out of \u2063whatever \u200bsmall chance of survival he or she \u2062had.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How \u2062does a past cesarean section increase the risk of uterine rupture during subsequent pregnancies?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Has been shown to increase the risk of uterine\u2063 rupture during subsequent pregnancies, \u2064especially if the \u2063incision\u200c is a classical vertical incision. However, Cox has never had a cesarean section in the past, \u200dso the risk of\u200d uterine rupture\u200c is extremely low. Additionally, Cox&#8217;s obstetrician, Dr. Karsan, has not provided any evidence or medical opinion to suggest that \u200dCox&#8217;s health or fertility is at risk if she continues the pregnancy.\u200c Therefore, Cox&#8217;s claim that her life or fertility is in danger is \u2062unfounded and seems to be solely motivated by political motives.<\/p>\n<h3>The Importance of Abiding by the Law<\/h3>\n<p>The \u2063actions of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and the Biden administration, along with Cox&#8217;s attempt to manipulate the \u200blaw, highlight a dangerous\u2063 trend \u200bof disregarding and circumventing\u200c established laws and policies. The rule of law is a fundamental\u2062 principle that ensures \u2062the \u200dstability and functioning\u200b of a democratic society. \u200cWhen individuals\u200d in positions of power choose to ignore\u200d or bypass the law, it undermines the very foundation of\u200d our legal system and erodes public\u2062 trust \u2064in the government.<\/p>\n<p>It is crucial for leaders to respect and uphold the law, \u2063even if they disagree with it. They must work within the established framework to bring about change if necessary, rather than \u200dsimply disregarding the law \u2062to push their own agendas. Ignoring the law sets a dangerous precedent\u2064 and opens the door for abuse of power, as \u2063personal preferences and political motives become \u200bmore important than the well-being of\u2064 the nation and its citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of \u200bCox,\u2064 if she believes the current\u2064 abortion laws in Texas are unfair or unjust, she should advocate for change through legal and democratic \u2063means. She can support initiatives to amend the existing \u200blaws or work\u200b towards \u2062electing \u2063representatives who align \u200bwith her \u200bviews. However, using\u200b her personal situation to challenge and\u2063 manipulate \u200cthe law undermines the democratic process and diminishes the voices \u200cof the majority who have expressed their support for the existing laws.<\/p>\n<h3>The Need for\u2062 Honest \u2063and Ethical Actions<\/h3>\n<p>In\u200d any legal or ethical\u2064 debate, it is essential to have honest\u200d and fact-based discussions. Cox&#8217;s claim that her life is \u2063in danger and\u2063 her attempt to portray her choice as a fight for\u200b women&#8217;s rights is misleading \u200band manipulative. \u2064It is crucial \u2062to base arguments and decisions on accurate information and\u2062 genuine \u2062concerns for the \u2063well-being of all individuals involved.<\/p>\n<p>Medical \u2062professionals, like Dr. Karsan, must adhere to the principles of medical \u200cethics and \u200dprovide unbiased and well-founded opinions. Misrepresenting medical facts to support personal beliefs \u200dor agendas undermines the trust and integrity\u200d of the medical profession. It is imperative \u200dthat doctors maintain their professionalism and \u2062act\u2062 in\u200b the best interest of\u2064 their patients, considering both their\u2062 physical and mental health.<\/p>\n<p>In\u200b conclusion, the act\u200d of ignoring or circumventing the law, as demonstrated by \u2064Secretary of\u2063 Defense Lloyd Austin, the Biden administration, \u200band Cox&#8217;s attempt to manipulate \u200cthe law, is a\u200b dangerous weapon that undermines the rule of law and\u2063 erodes public trust\u2064 in the government.
