Governor Stitt joins Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/266\/?Tab=BillText\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed a bill<\/a> last May that banned the\u200c use of funds for diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida&#8217;s public colleges and universities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Governor Stitt emphasized the importance of equal opportunity\u200c and shifting the focus away \u2063from\u200d exclusivity and discrimination. He stated, &#8220;We&#8217;re taking politics out of education and focusing\u200d on preparing students for the workforce.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The executive order also prohibits the use of funds to force \u200dindividuals to participate in or listen to any education, training, activities, procedures, or programming. It also prevents the enforcement of loyalty\u2064 oaths\u2062 or any ideological viewpoint. Additionally, job applicants are not required to provide a diversity, equity, \u2063and inclusion\u2064 statement, and individuals are not compelled to \u2064disclose their pronouns.<\/p>\n<h3>Support for \u200bGovernor Stitt&#8217;s Executive Order<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>Race, ethnicity, gender, \u2064and heritage should not be \u200dused to discriminate against any person. Yet, discriminatory DEI \u2063programming has done damage on college\u2063 campuses\u2014fomenting \u200cdivision\u00a0between\u2062 students, eroding free speech rights, threatening academic\u00a0freedom, and bloating school bureaucracies, which in \u200bturn\u00a0drives up tuition costs. Furthermore, these efforts \u2062do not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">prepare young women<\/a> and\u200d men\u2063 for the diverse workforce \u200dthat\u00a0values aptitude,\u00a0grit, and skill,\u00a0not a sense \u2064of entitlement driven by victimhood. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>We applaud Governor Stitt and the state\u200d for taking leadership on removing \u200cdiscriminatory and divisive race-based \u200cprogramming \u200dand staffing from Oklahoma colleges and universities. \u2062Every\u00a0student deserves a campus free from discrimination.
