The ship reported significant damage and a fire onboard\u2063 following the strike. Thankfully, there were no casualties. Gen. Yahya Sarea confirmed that the Houthis were responsible for the attack, emphasizing their intention to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-set-to-announce-massive-weapons-package-for-taiwan\/\" title=\"US to unveil huge weapons deal for Taiwan.\">target ships<\/a> with links to Israel \u200bdue to the ongoing conflict between Israel\u200c and Hamas in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the \u200dfirst time the Houthis have launched such\u2064 attacks. In recent weeks, they have \u2063carried out a series of\u200c missile and drone strikes on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. It\u2062 is a\u200b crucial passage for global trade, with over 10% of world trade passing through it. \u2063Any disruption to\u2064 the flow of \u2063shipping in this area could have \u200bserious consequences\u200d for the \u2063global economy.<\/p>\n<p>The Houthis, an Iran-backed \u2064rebel group, have been fighting\u200c against the Yemeni government since\u2062 2014. The ongoing war has resulted in a humanitarian crisis, with\u200b thousands of civilians killed and millions displaced.
