Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts will\u200d be targeted.<\/p>\n<p>Members of \u201cthe squad\u201d \u2014 Pressley, Bowman and Democratic\u2064 Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez \u2064of New York, Summer Lee \u200cof Pennsylvania and Cori Bush of Missouri \u2014 have been highly critical of\u2062 American support for Israel in the \u200baftermath of\u200c the Oct. 7 slaughter \u2063of Israelis by Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>AIPAC spokesman Marshall Wittman said \u2063the group is \u201cin the process of evaluating \u2063races involving detractors of Israel, but we have not yet made any decisions,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/the-squad-is-facing-an-existential-threat-in-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the \u200cDaily Beast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur sole criteria in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tudor-dixon-closes-17-point-gap-in-michigan-gov-race\/\" title=\"Tudor Dixon Closes 17-Point Gap in Michigan Gov. Race\">evaluating candidates<\/a> is their position on\u200c the \u200bU.S.-Israel alliance. We will not only oppose detractors but \u200dalso\u2064 strongly support champions of the U.S.-Israel \u200brelationship,\u201d Wittman said, adding that the group supports members of both parties.<\/p>\n<p>Ocasio-Cortez\u2062 views AIPAC as a threat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey take money from Republican donors, they pour it into Democratic primaries, they exclusively \u2014 virtually exclusively \u2014 target Democratic incumbents. And so my concern is\u2064 less \u200cabout \u200dthe \u2063dilution of progressive power,\u201d she said, adding that the Democratic Party needs to support \u201csquad\u201d members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut what I have concerns about is the rupture that this could represent in \u200dthe Democratic Party and the hostility \u2064that \u200dit could involve if our party does not\u2064 stand together against some of the most disruptive tactics that we\u2019ve \u200cseen,\u201d she\u200d said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/aocs-attack-aid-israel-looks-even-worse-light-said-4-years-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> was continued, saying it would be \u201cdestabilizing\u201d if Democratic leadership did\u2063 not come to the defense \u200cof incumbents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese members are going to have to be defended by\u2064 our party leadership, and they\u2062 need to \u200bbe defended\u2063 as vociferously\u200d as incumbents that have been primaried\u2062 from other elements of the party,\u201d\u200c she \u200bsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Coupled with the loss of fundraising \u200dthrough the liberal group\u200d Justice Democrats, Max Berger, a strategist\u2062 who formerly worked\u2064 at Justice\u2062 Democrats, said \u201cthe squad\u201d could\u2062 be in trouble.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t tell how bad \u2062it\u2019s going \u2062to get\u200c in terms of setbacks and losses,\u201d Berger said. \u201cThere are a few races that are going to be very close or \u2062have reason to think will be challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Usamah Andrabi, communications director for Justice \u2062Democrats, called \u2062the AIPAC intervention \u2064\u201can existential\u200c threat to \u2063the power you\u2019ve already built.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ilhan-omar-faces-challenger-barely-beat-2022-things-changed-drastically-since\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omar<\/a> and Bush are already facing challengers while one\u200b for Tlaib \u2062could be waiting in the wings.<\/p>\n<p>Bowman is considered vulnerable because\u200c his antagonism for Israel\u200c runs against the grain for his district\u2019s Jewish\u200b community.
