There\u2019s nothing wrong with\u2064 letting\u2064 a loss bug you \u2062and eat\u2062 away at you, especially \u200bif it helps provide\u200d some much-needed life motivation.<\/p>\n<p>(Society could stand to \u2063benefit from quite a bit\u2062 more of that sort\u200d of shame and introspection, but that\u2019s neither\u2064 here nor there.)<\/p>\n<p>As far as how it\u2019s overrated to\u2063 be a gracious \u2063winner \u2026 \u200dLook, sportsmanship and decorum \u200cobviously have \u200dtheir place in civilized\u200c society.<\/p>\n<p>But there are times when tough love \u2014 or \u201ctough grace,\u201d if you will \u2014 isn\u2019t just recommended, but almost necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Take, for example, the biting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wonderful-visual-emblem-glass-monument-to-kamala-harris-erected-in-front-of-lincoln-memorial\/\" title=\"\u2018Wonderful Visual Emblem\u2019: Glass Monument To Kamala Harris Erected In Front Of Lincoln Memorial\">victory speech<\/a> put\u2063 forth by the new Houston mayor, John Whitmire.<\/p>\n<p>As reported on by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/politics\/houston\/article\/houston-mayor-runoff-results-18525193.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Houston Chronicle<\/a>, Mayor-elect\u2064 Whitmire handily\u2064 beat Sheila Jackson Lee in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sheila-jackson-lee-defeated-mayor-race-wasnt-even-close\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">landslide win<\/a>, 64.4 percent to 35.6 percent in a special election Saturday night, and didn\u2019t pull punches when describing his fellow Democrat in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jeff-landry-flips-louisiana-governor-mansion-in-first-gop-win-in-eight-years\/\" title=\"Jeff Landry secures first GOP victory in Louisiana governor mansion after eight years.\">victory\u200b speech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople want to go to work\u2062 for me because\u2063 we respect\u200c people. We don\u2019t bully people,\u201d Whitmire said in a Saturday night victory speech, per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chron.com\/news\/houston-texas\/article\/mayor-john-whitmire-election-18544745.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chronicle<\/a>. \u201cMy family taught me to treat people the way you want to be treated,\u200b and that works wherever you are,\u2062 regardless of what community you\u2019re visiting with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTreat these individuals like you want to be treated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitmire was clearly referring to\u200b an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/leaked-audio-appears-show-sheila-jackson-lees-ugly-behavior-behind-closed-doors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October audio leak<\/a> that exposed some ugly behavior from Lee. The audio leaks revealed a voice that many think is \u2063Lee, berating staffers in a positively \u2063degrading way.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in his victory speech, Whitmire\u200d noted how \u201cfed \u200dup\u201d he\u2064 was with Lee\u2019s constant boasting and bragging, particularly when it came at the expense of other Democrats in the local delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Lee,\u2062 a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sheila-jackson-lee-claims-40000-people-jan-6-protest-harm-capitol-kill-people-inside\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">card-carrying Democrat<\/a> \u2063 and documented <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sheila-jackson-lee-chuckles-witness-makes-fun-barron-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump hater<\/a>, is no\u200b stranger to the hysteria and theatrics emanating from \u200dthe three ring circus known as the modern Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<p>Whitmire, while still a Democrat (and\u200b therefore not fully trustworthy), at least seems to understand a basic\u200d reality of the modern American \u200csociety: People are sick and tired of being sick and tired about the partisan hackery that has consumed American politics.<\/p>\n<p>People are hurting \u2014 and painfully reminded of that fact during the time of year\u200b where gifts are expected to be purchased \u2014 and don\u2019t have the time or patience to see grown adults squabbling like children\u2063 instead of passing legislation to improve their lives.<\/p>\n<p>And because of that, how \u2064can anyone find fault \u2062with Whitmire\u2019s potshots at Lee in his victory speech?<\/p>\n<p>Whatever one may think of the Democratic Party, it\u2019s inarguable\u200c that swathes\u200c of America will likely always remain under some semblance of deep blue control. Given\u200b that, even\u2064 Republicans and independents should be demanding more of that party \u2014 and not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cori-bush-peddles-sick-lie-rittenhouse-acquitted-white-supremacists-can-shoot-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more theatrics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A fawning, congratulatory victory speech from \u2062Whitmire would \u200conly embolden the worst\u2064 behaviors of Lee and further hurt her constituents.<\/p>\n<p>Applying some shame \u2014 assuming Lee has any \u2014 and \u2064pressure is exactly what \u2062any right-minded Democrat should be doing.<\/p>\n<p>And to be \u200bclear, this is not an exclusively Democrat problem.
