That, in turn, could open the door for a \u200bdisgraced former New York governor \u2063to return\u2064 to politics.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It may be hard to \u2063believe at this point, \u2063but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-nyc-mayor-adams-loses-older-woman-asks-question-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adams<\/a> \u2062came to office as \u200bthe \u201cconservative\u201d\u200d choice \u2063over his far-left opponents. \u2064Adams \u200dran for office only a\u200b year ago as \u2064the \u201claw\u200d and order\u201d\u200b candidate promising to \u200bend crime, and said he\u2019d \u200dbe an ally to \u2062the New York Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Despite riding into the mayor\u2019s office on a \u200dwave of centrist ideals, since taking office the mayor\u2019s approval rating has \u200dcrashed to a\u2064 disastrous 28 percent approval, with a whopping 58 percent who\u200c disapprove of what he has done thus far in \u2062office, a <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3886\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Quinnipiac poll<\/a> finds.<\/p>\n<p>The demographic breakdown isn\u2019t good, either. While\u2062 his biggest bloc of \u2064supporters is black voters, they still\u2064 disapprove of him at a 38 \u2064to \u206448 \u200bpercent margin. Usually, blacks support their\u200d candidates \u2063and politicians at\u200c a margin of 80 percent and\u2063 up,\u2064 so this is an extremely bad showing for the black mayor.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, white voters are \u200can unsupportive segment of \u2062the population. \u2063Sixty-one percent of white voters disapprove of\u2064 Adams\u2019 job a year into his mayoralty. Asian voters are just \u2063as \u200cnegative, with 60 percent in criticism of his work thus far. \u200bBut\u200b the poll also finds that Hispanics are his worst bloc of voters, \u2062with fully 65 \u200dpercent saying\u2063 he has failed as mayor. It seems his support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illegals-aliens-taking-thanksgiving-turkeys-low-income-nyc-residents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">illegals<\/a> \u200b has not helped him much with this block of voters.<\/p>\n<p>The latter is an incredible finding since Adams has bent over backwards to push millions \u2063of city tax dollars toward giving free housing, clothing, food, health care\u200b and education to \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-mayor-adams-admits-defeat-warns-crowd-new-york-city-will-destroyed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">illegal border crossers<\/a> and to put them\u2062 on \u200cthe fast track\u200b for\u2062 jobs. Apparently, all his pandering to illegals has not put him \u2062in good\u2062 stead at\u200c all with New \u2062York City\u2019s Hispanic voters.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the new Quinnipiac poll put that <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/images\/polling\/nyc\/nyc12062023_nzzt98.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">question<\/a> \u200bto Hispanic voters \u200bdirectly, asking: \u201cDo \u200byou approve or disapprove of the way Mayor \u2063Adams is handling \u2014 the surge of \u200bmigrants seeking sanctuary \u2063in New York City?\u201d The answers showed\u200b that\u200b Adams \u2063is\u200b upside down on the\u200d question with 68 percent of Hispanics disapproving of \u200dhis actions and only a scant 25 percent\u200b approving.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, this is \u2063an even worse finding than\u2062 the \u200clast Quinnipiac poll which\u2062 found his approval rating had sunk to 31 percent\u200b in July.<\/p>\n<p>The polling is bad enough, of course. But Adams faces an even more serious\u2062 threat to \u2062his\u200b position. He is \u2064now\u200b the subject\u2063 of two tough investigations, one into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illegal-alien-sent-western-new-york-dem-mayor-eric-adams-charged-sexually-assaulting-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sexual\u2062 assault<\/a> and a\u200b second one, a probe into\u2063 the question as to whether \u200dhe took \u2064illegal campaign contributions from foreign sources.<\/p>\n<p>In the one \u2063case, the embattled mayor was\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nyc-mayor-adams-troubles-pile-bombshell-sexual-assault-accusation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused<\/a> of sexual harassment that a\u2062 victim claims occurred back in 1993. The allegations were made in a lawsuit filed\u2064 on November 22, with Adams accused of sexually assaulting a woman he was working with when he was a captain \u200con the New York Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fbi-seizes-democratic-mayors-ipad-mobile-phones-discovers-folder-another-seized-device-interesting-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investigation<\/a> is being conducted by the FBI\u2063 which is looking\u2064 into whether\u200b the mayor took illegal campaign\u2062 donations from the Turkish government \u200cduring his 2021 campaign for mayor. The first hint of the \u200dinvestigation came \u2062early in November when \u200cthe home of his chief fundraiser\u200b was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dem-nyc-mayor-adams-cancels-meetings-fbi-raids-top-fundraiser\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raided<\/a> by\u2063 the bureau.<\/p>\n<p>With these two serious investigations dogging him, \u2064along with his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-daily-wire-releases-new-kids-app-bentkey-with-full-slate-in-surprise-drop\/\" title=\"The Daily Wire surprises with full slate release of new kids app, Bentkey.\">plummeting favorability ratings<\/a>, there is already talk in the media of his possible resignation.<\/p>\n<p>So, with \u200da large majority \u200dof voters \u200bopposing him and \u200btwo serious legal \u2062issues hanging over him, some\u200c are wondering if\u200d he might just resign and bag the whole thing. With that \u200cin mind, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/12\/09\/poll-nyc-mayor-eric-adams-resigns-cuomo-00130940\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a> recently\u200d looked at who\u200b might step up to replace Adams if he were to resign \u200dand try to slink off into obscurity. And who did Politico suggest as a possible replacement\u200d but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disgraced-andrew-cuomo-ordered-pay-5-1-million-book-profits-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andrew\u2063 Cuomo<\/a>, the former governor of the\u2062 state who\u2064 was also driven into retirement thanks to scandal.<\/p>\n<p>Politico \u200bnoted that Cuomo was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/11\/21\/cuomo-mayor-adams-00128380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">considering<\/a> a bid for Big Apple mayor back in November\u200c as \u200ba \u2063means to make a political comeback.<\/p>\n<p>This month, the political website noted that a recent \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/acrobat.adobe.com\/id\/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:131ce100-58be-4d95-9716-244909bdc538\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slingshot poll<\/a> found that Cuomo \u200cwould garner 22 percent of the \u200cvote in a race against progressive candidate Public Advocate\u200c Jumaane Williams (15 percent) and former Democrat \u2063candidate for mayor Kathryn Garcia (12 percent). Garcia now works in the New York \u200cgovernor\u2019s office. \u2064The \u200conly Republican on the list\u2064 was former GOP mayoral nominee Curtis Sliwa, who figured \u2064in \u200bat 9 percent in the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Adams\u2019 office blasted\u200d the poll as \u201cmisleading,\u201d Politico added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother day, another misleading poll, but\u2064 this \u200done by the same pollster who got the 2021 mayoral \u2062race completely\u2062 wrong,\u201d Deputy\u200b Mayor Fabien Levy said of the poll. \u201cLet\u2019s stop spreading false narratives by want-to-be candidates  <\/p>\n<h2> What are the ongoing investigations that \u200cMayor \u200dEric \u200dAdams is facing,\u200d and how might they impact his future in office<\/h2>\n<p><span>  \u2063 Ratings, Mayor Eric \u200dAdams&#8217; future\u200d in office looks uncertain.
