Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Bidenomics Forcing Third of Americans to \u2064Punch Overtime \u200bClock \u2064to Fund Holidays, Survey Shows<\/h2>\n<p>A majority \u2063of Americans are telling poll takers that Bidenomics is causing them to make major changes in \u2063their spending habits for the holidays this year, and that they will be unable to spend as much as in\u2063 years past.\u200c Many say they are putting \u200cin extra hours just to be able to afford the costs.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes from Empower\u2019s\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empower.com\/the-currency\/life\/holiday-spending-budgeting-trends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023 holiday spending report<\/a>, \u200daccording to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/economy\/nearly-third-americans-working-overtime-afford-holiday-costs-survey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox Business Network<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report, taken among 1,003\u200c Americans and split across four generations, found that 74 percent say that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidenomics-much-extra-cash-americans-need-today-just-afford-basics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenflation<\/a> is causing serious problems for them this \u2062year, and \u206331 percent say they are having to work overtime to bring in enough cash \u2062to afford their holiday purchases.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/major-bank-will-focus-mortgage-activities-on-minority-communities\/\" title=\"Major Bank Will Focus Mortgage Activities On \u2018Minority Communities\u2019\">financial services company\u2019<\/a>s survey also found that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>46 percent are skipping travel\u2063 and using that \u200cmoney for holiday spending<\/li>\n<li>Three in ten are cutting back on holiday \u2062traditions to save money<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe survey shows that over a third (34%) are trimming their budgets \u2062in favor of saving this year, while others are cutting back on buying\u2064 gifts \u200dor non-essential expenses like \u2064dining out to stay\u2062 on track,\u201d\u2064 Empower spokesman Courtney Burrell told FBN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow \u2062you\u2063 allocate your holiday budget will depend on \u200bwhat\u2019s most important to you \u2014 this year, you may \u200dprioritize travel to visit family that you typically only see during the holidays over decorations or cut back on social commitments in order to give yourself a larger budget for \u200choliday\u200b gifts,\u201d Burrell added.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-seven percent \u200dsaid that they plan to spend no \u2063more than $250 on gifts, while only ten percent said they are budgeting $1,000 for gift giving.<\/p>\n<p>A graphic on\u200b the Empower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empower.com\/the-currency\/life\/holiday-spending-budgeting-trends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> adds that Americans have cut way back on travel expenses and less than half, \u200d(49 percent), intend to do much traveling for the holidays. Further, 46\u2062 percent\u2062 said they are cutting out travel to save money. Thirty-two percent said they are not traveling because flight prices are too \u2063high, and 24 percent said that \u200bgas \u200cprices are too high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2062holidays come with financial considerations, and this year, \u2064many will be especially mindful of\u200d their spending choices during these last months of 2023,\u201d Empower \u2063concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Other \u200breports\u2062 found that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidenomics-inflation-pushes-christmas-tree-prices-significantly-beyond-last-years-highs-even-artificial-ones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christmas tree prices<\/a> \u2063 have also soared this year.<\/p>\n<p>Prices are up ten percent over prices from 2022, \u200cthe National Christmas Tree Association and the American\u2063 Christmas \u200cTree Association reported at the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas season comes on the tail of a\u200c Thanksgiving that\u2064 saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidenomics-thanksgiving-dinner-will-cost-25-biden-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">higher costs<\/a> for Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Thanksgiving dinner prices, for \u2062instance, \u2064were up more than 25 percent over the costs in 2019, according to data \u200bfrom the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fb.org\/news-release\/cost-of-thanksgiving-dinner-down-slightly-from-record-high-in-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Farm Bureau Federation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200dfixings for Thanksgiving cost $53.31 in 2019. \u200dBut during the Biden era, the costs came to $64.05, the agency reported this year.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Let\u2019s \u2064talk turkey.
