Gavin Newsom. Lawmakers \u200cclaimed the new requirements are based \u2063on the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fox-news-panel-flames-lori-lightfoot-she-ought-to-declare-war-on-crime-rather-than-white-journalists\/\" title=\"Fox News Panel Flames Lori Lightfoot: \u2018She Ought To Declare War On Crime Rather Than White Journalists\u2019\">civil rights statutes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny department store that fails to create a\u200c gender-neutral \u200dsection could face a $250 fine for the\u200d first violation,\u201d \u200dthe New\u200c York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/12\/06\/business\/california-retailers-that-refuse-to-have-gender-neutral-toys-will-be-fined-up-to-500-under-new-law\/\">reported<\/a>, \u201cand\u2063 a $500 fine for any subsequent violations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harmeet Dhillon, a California\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhillonlaw.com\/team-showcase\/harmeet-k-dhillon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attorney<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gop.com\/about-our-party\/rnc-members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">member<\/a> of the Republican National Committee (RNC),\u200c issued a clarion call to challenge the state mandates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf any affected toy retailer wants to challenge this law,\u201d she wrote on X, \u201ccall me.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>The \u200dNew York\u2064 Post editorial board mocked the new law \u2064in a Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/12\/07\/opinion\/california-gender-neutral-toy-law-is-latest-woke-insanity\/#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">op-ed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCalifornia is facing a\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/09\/30\/california-is-at-a-tipping-point-leaving-liberal-pols-scrambling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">crime crisis across\u2062 its major \u200bcities, a population exodus driven\u2064 by high taxes and woke policies<\/a>,\u200c and a host of other thorny problems,\u201d\u200d the board wrote. \u201cNaturally, Golden State lawmakers opted to focus on the urgent \u2062issue of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/12\/06\/business\/california-retailers-that-refuse-to-have-gender-neutral-toys-will-be-fined-up-to-500-under-new-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not enough gender-neutral toys<\/a><\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, no law prevents parents \u2062from buying their child existing toys marketed for the opposite\u2064 sex.<\/p>\n<p>In August, retail giant Target <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/16\/after-drawing-boycotts-over-pro-trans-and-pro-satan-merch-target-suffers-first-quarterly-miss-in-6-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> the chain\u2019s first quarterly miss in six years after the company debuted controversial apparel celebrating transgenderism and\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/22\/target-partnered-with-satan-supporter-who-wants-to-eradicate-critics-of-transgenderism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">designed<\/a> by a self-professed Satanist.<\/p>\n<p>In Newsom\u2019s debate on the merits of red state\u2063 vs. \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/legal-group-sues-new-york-state-over-race-based-covid-treatment\/\" title=\"Legal Group Sues New York State Over Race-Based COVID Treatment\">blue state policy<\/a> with \u200cFlorida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis last week, DeSantis \u2064scored\u2063 his <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/12\/01\/the-fight-against-sexualizing-kids-doesnt-just-win-debates-it-wins-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">strongest<\/a> points on\u2064 stage when he slammed California\u2019s \u200bobsession with\u200b sexualizing children. When moderator Sean Hannity of Fox\u200c News brought up Florida\u2019s parental rights bill \u2014 which Democrats dishonestly branded as the \u201cDon\u2019t Say Gay\u201d bill \u2014 DeSantis went on offense. The new law bans teachers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-defends-florida-schools-black-history-teaching-against-kamala-harris\/\" title=\"DeSantis supports Florida schools' black history teaching, counters Kamala Harris.\">introducing sexual \u2064topics<\/a> like LGBT ideology in kindergarten through third-grade classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe role of the school is\u200c to educate kids, not indoctrinate kids,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cIt\u2019s not \u200bto impose an agenda, it\u2019s to do the basics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we\u2019ve said in Florida is it\u2019s inappropriate to tell a kindergartner that their gender is a choice, it\u2019s inappropriate to tell a second grader that they may have been born in the wrong body,\u201d DeSantis added. \u201cCalifornia has that.
