The investigation stems from indications⁤ that ⁢Willis may have colluded⁤ with the House select committee that investigated‍ the January 6, 2021, Capitol ⁤incursion as‌ part of her ongoing ⁣prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

According to a news release from the House Judiciary Committee, Jordan and fellow GOP Rep. Barry ‌Loudermilk of Georgia initiated the investigation after learning of coordination between Willis’s office‌ and the partisan Select‌ Committee. Jordan sent ⁢a letter‍ to the Fulton County prosecutor ⁤demanding documents and communications between ‌her office and ⁢the Jan. 6 panel.

The letter references a previous letter ‌from Willis to Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, Chairman of the January ⁢6 Select Committee, in which she requested access to congressional records that may be relevant to her ‌criminal investigation. Jordan questions which records Willis obtained through her coordination with the committee and raises concerns about⁣ the ⁢committee’s oversight of‍ her⁢ politically motivated prosecution.

Jordan criticizes‍ the partisan January 6 Select Committee for procedural abuses, due process violations, and fabricating and publicly releasing doctored⁤ evidence. He raises concerns about the committee’s influence on Willis’s prosecution and questions her commitment to due process.

The letter demands that Willis provide all requested evidence, including official communications and materials exchanged with the Jan. 6 committee, by December 19th.

In ⁣a⁤ similar demand, Loudermilk wrote to Thompson expressing concerns about collusion between Willis and the committee. He states that any⁢ such collusion raises questions about Willis and Thompson’s commitment to due process and whether House Rules were violated ‍when the committee failed to disclose the material.

This new investigation by Jordan and‍ Loudermilk seeks ⁢to uncover the truth behind ‍any potential collusion between‍ Willis and the January 6 Select Committee. ‍They are concerned ⁤about the implications for⁣ due process and transparency in the ongoing prosecution of former President Donald⁣ Trump.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan is launching a new investigation into Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis.
