The Democrat used the lowball appraisal in <a href=\"https:\/\/int.nyt.com\/data\/documenttools\/trump-judges-ruling\/ce6de7d636227e1b\/full.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a sweeping ruling<\/a> in September that \u200bsought \u200dto hinder Trump from \u200cconducting business in the state of New York.<\/p>\n<p>Bartov, who was\u200b tasked by the \u2062defense with reviewing \u2063the president\u2019s financial \u200cassets, rejected Engoron\u2019s assessment and \u2062warned that\u2063 real \u2063estate values are \u2063subjectively determined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf somebody tells you\u2062 that an\u200d evaluation is objective, this person has to have their head examined,\u201d\u200c he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy analysis shows the statements\u2062 of financial condition for all the\u200b years were not materially \u200dmisstated,\u201d he further asserted.<\/p>\n<p>The only discrepancy Bartov discovered in Trump\u2019s records \u2062was the valuation of his \u2064Manhattan triplex \u200bapartment, which \u200bappeared \u200dto \u2063have \u200ctripled in \u200bvalue over one \u2063year. The veteran accountant noted that the $80 million to $180 million difference \u200dbetween 2011 \u2064and 2012 appeared\u2064 to have been an\u200d \u201cerror\u201d but\u200b assured the court that \u201cthere is no evidence here of\u2063 concealment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s true this is an \u200cerror. But\u2064 it \u2064is no fraud,\u201d he said, \u200cnoting that\u200c accounting \u201cerrors like that\u201d are\u200d often \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/12\/07\/news\/trump-tripling-nyc-triplex-size-inevitable-error-witness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inevitable<\/a>\u201d\u2064 and \u200bthat outside\u2062 auditors clearly\u2064 missed \u2063it.<\/p>\n<p>Bartov concluded that James\u2019 case has \u201cno \u200bmerit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump celebrated \u200dthe expert in a press\u2064 conference \u2062at\u2064 the courthouse \u2063on Thursday but warned,\u200c \u201cNothing will have any bearing on what this judge does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis case should be over. This case should have never\u2062 been\u2064 brought. This\u200b was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/n-y-rep-reed-considering-gubernatorial-run-to-challenge-gov-cuomo\/\" title=\"N.Y. Rep. Reed considering gubernatorial run to challenge Gov. Cuomo\">political witch hunt<\/a> by\u200c an attorney general who is out of control and tried to get elected governor and failed. But this is a political witch \u200chunt, and our country should be ashamed of what\u2019s going on,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>He once again identified \u2063the case as a \u2062partisan\u200c scheme dreamed up by Democrats who want to hamper his 2024 chances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat they\u2019ve done is\u200b they\u2019ve weaponized justice,\u201d\u200c Trump said. \u201cThis is coming \u200dfrom the White House because \u200dI\u2019m beating Biden by a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In October, Engoron <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/10\/02\/left-wing-judge-who-devalued-mar-a-lago-estate-smiles-laughs-at-start-of-trump-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">giddily<\/a> muzzled Trump from his First Amendment\u200b right to\u2064 scrutinize the\u200d partisan campaign \u200bto undermine and\u200b break up the Trump Organization.
