Surprisingly, \u2064the U.S. military has only responded seven\u2062 times, and their\u200c targets have been \u2063mostly insignificant.<\/p>\n<p>In October and November, the Yemen-based Houthis, one of Tehran&#8217;s key players in the region, joined the chaos.\u200b They have fired \u200bmissiles at Israeli targets and American warships, shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone, hijacked a commercial vessel \u2063in \u2064the Red Sea, and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mark-levin-we-cannot-allow-nuclear-blackmail-from-putin\/\" title=\"Mark Levin: We Cannot Allow 'Nuclear Blackmail' from Putin\">fired ballistic missiles<\/a> near the Navy \u200dwarship USS <em>Mason<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Just recently, the Houthis launched four separate attacks against three commercial \u200bvessels\u200c in the southern Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>If Sullivan is\u2063 paying attention, \u2062it&#8217;s clear that Iran \u200band its proxies are causing quite a commotion.<\/p>\n<p>The escalating pattern of attacks cannot be\u2063 ignored, and downplaying\u200d the threat is simply not enough. So, what advice do\u2064 we\u2064 have for the Democrats&#8217; national security experts?<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, \u2064redesignating the Houthis as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawmakers-consider-enacting-statute-to-increase-punishments-for-domestic-terrorism\/\" title=\"Lawmakers consider enacting statute to increase punishments for domestic terrorism\">foreign terrorist organization<\/a> \u200cshould be the bare minimum.\u2064 But to truly establish deterrence, more action is required.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Central Command\u2062 has done a decent job of publicizing the Iran-directed and supported attacks over the past two \u200dmonths. \u2063They should continue to engage in the information domain and release more details to shed light\u200c on this ongoing threat.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Navy should also draw inspiration from their \u2064past successes in intercepting illicit weapon shipments from Iran\u2064 in international waters. It&#8217;s no secret that the Iranians are using Russian- and Chinese-made weapons, destined for \u2064Yemen. The \u2063Navy\u2064 should seize these shipments more frequently and closer\u200d to Iranian shores, making Iran pay the price for their behavior and demonstrating our understanding of their networks.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has been flaunting its well-funded drone and UAV operation, not only in the\u2063 Persian Gulf but also in Ukraine \u200dand on the open seas. The United States should target\u2062 them, including their home ports, \u2064launch locations, \u2062and storage facilities on the mainland.<\/p>\n<p>The United \u2062States-led international order relies heavily on \u200dthe high seas. With the order already on shaky ground, the Biden\u200c administration faces a critical decision. Their tit-for-tat response to Iran&#8217;s schemes has proven ineffective. They\u200b can either further enable the \u2063Houthis and Iran&#8217;s \u200baggression or reassert American strength.<\/p>\n<p>Readers, it&#8217;s clear which option we support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What steps should the Biden administration \u2064take to reevaluate and strengthen the United States&#8217; approach \u200dto the Middle East, \u2064considering the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bipartisan-lawmakers-ask-blinken-to-step-up-efforts-to-combat-flow-of-fentanyl-from-china\/\" title=\"Lawmakers urge Blinken to intensify fight against China's fentanyl flow.\">growing \u200bthreat posed<\/a> by Iranian proxies<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Nimitz. These acts of aggression demonstrate a brazen\u200c disregard for international\u2064 norms and \u200da clear escalation \u200cof\u200b tensions in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>So why is it that \u2062Jake Sullivan, the National Security adviser, failed to accurately assess the volatile \u2062situation in \u200cthe region? It seems that\u2063 his declaration of quietness was premature and \u2064ill-informed. \u200bIt is concerning that someone in \u200bsuch a crucial position of advising \u200dthe\u2063 President on national \u2064security\u2062 matters could \u200dbe so \u200doff the mark.<\/p>\n<p>Sullivan&#8217;s naivety and lack\u200d of understanding of the complexities \u2063of\u2064 the Middle\u2064 East have consequences. By downplaying\u200b the threat posed by Iranian \u200bproxies and\u200b underestimating the \u2063potential for conflict, he has inadvertently weakened the position of the \u2063United States.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the limited response from \u2064the\u2063 U.S. military to these attacks sends a dangerous message to Iran and its proxies \u2013 that they\u200b can act with impunity. This only emboldens them to continue their aggressive\u2062 actions, putting American lives \u200bat risk and destabilizing the region further.<\/p>\n<p>It is \u2062clear that a reevaluation of \u200dthe United \u2062States&#8217;\u200b approach to \u200dthe Middle East is needed. \u200bThe Biden \u200cadministration must acknowledge the growing threat posed by Iranian proxies and take decisive action to protect American\u200d interests and ensure the\u200c stability of the region.<\/p>\n<p>This starts with replacing\u200c Jake Sullivan as National Security adviser\u200b with someone who has a \u200cbetter \u2063understanding of the Middle East\u2063 and the complexities of the \u200csecurity\u200c challenges it presents. The role of the National Security adviser\u2064 is crucial in \u2063providing accurate assessments\u200c and strategic guidance to the\u200c President. It is imperative that this position be \u200dfilled\u2063 by someone\u200c who is competent, well-informed, and \u200dcapable of navigating the complexities of the region.<\/p>\n<p>In addition,\u2063 the\u2064 United\u2064 States must\u2064 reassess its military presence and capabilities in the region.\u200c It is clear that the \u2064current approach is not deterring\u2063 Iranian proxies from launching\u2064 attacks. A stronger and more assertive response is needed to send \u200da\u2062 clear message that the United States will\u2063 not tolerate aggression against its\u200c interests or \u200cits allies.<\/p>\n<p>The recent escalation of tensions in the \u2063Middle East serves\u2064 as \u200da reminder that this region remains a critical \u2062and volatile area of the world. It requires\u2062 knowledgeable and competent leadership to\u2063 navigate the complex web of competing interests \u2062and security challenges.\u200d The\u200c United \u2062States cannot afford to underestimate the threat \u200dposed by Iranian proxies and must take\u2063 swift and decisive action to protect its interests and maintain stability\u200d in the region.
