Paul\u2019s Issue About Sex Adjustments For Children\">cross-sex hormones<\/a>, and double mastectomies to children and\u2063 teens \u200bare facing a slew of lawsuits from detransitioners, young people who previously identified as transgender.<\/p>\n<p>The first such lawsuit in the U.S. came from Chloe Cole,\u2064 one of the most prominent detransitioners, who sued Kaiser Hospitals in February.<\/p>\n<p>Cole \u2062was put on puberty blockers at 12, cross-sex hormones at \u200d13, and\u2064 had her breasts surgically removed\u200b at 15. \u200cNow 19, Cole has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/barbaric-pseudoscience-chloe-cole-calls-for-lawmakers-to-protect-children-from-transgender-procedures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> her transgender medicalization was part of \u201cone of the biggest medical scandals\u201d in \u2064American history. Among\u2062 the\u200d damage,\u2062 Cole\u2019s voice is permanently lowered, and her fertility status is unknown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was fifteen when you cut into my body, ripped out my breasts and stitched me back up like \u200cI was your rag doll,\u201d Cole said\u2062 in February. \u201cYou are on the wrong side of history and will always be remembered as child \u2064butchers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another detransitioner, Prisha Mosley, 25, <a href=\"https:\/\/img1.wsimg.com\/blobby\/go\/ae9895b0-a62f-49d6-99d6-180b933bca97\/Prisha%20Mosley%20File-Stamped%20Complaint%207.17.23.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sued<\/a> her North Carolina doctors in \u200cJuly over her transgender medical treatments.<\/p>\n<p>Mosley was put on testosterone at 17 and had her breasts surgically \u200cremoved the next year. She says\u200b her doctors \u201clied\u201d and told her\u2064 testosterone would make her \u201cgrow a penis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, \u200dMosley suffered from anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and an eating disorder, according to her lawsuit. At 14, she also suffered a sexual\u2062 assault by an older male, which resulted in a miscarried pregnancy. At 15, she was hospitalized for a week for depression.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Mosley\u2019s doctors started her on transgender treatments that did not solve her\u200c mental health issues but left her with a lower voice, extra body hair, a damaged vagina, and an unknown fertility status, her lawsuit says.<\/p>\n<p>Another lawsuit comes\u2063 from Soren Aldaco, a 21-year-old detransitioner, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/detransitioner-files-1m-lawsuit-against-doctors-botched-mastectomy-left-her-permanently-disfigured\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">filed<\/a> a $1 million \u201cgross malpractice\u201d lawsuit against her Texas doctors in July.<\/p>\n<p>Aldaco, \u200bwho is autistic, was hospitalized with \u200da manic episode \u200bat 15. At the hospital, she was \u201ccoerced\u201d into saying\u200c she was transgender, her lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/img1.wsimg.com\/blobby\/go\/ae9895b0-a62f-49d6-99d6-180b933bca97\/Aldaco%20-%20Plaintiffs%20Original%20Petition%20(Final).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">says<\/a>. At 17, she was prescribed an \u201coutrageously large\u201d dose of testosterone, and at 19, she was pressured into \u200da botched \u2064double mastectomy with \u201chorrible post-surgical complications\u201d that left her \u201cpermanent physical disfigurement,\u201d the suit says.<\/p>\n<p>Isabelle Ayala, 20, is <a href=\"https:\/\/img1.wsimg.com\/blobby\/go\/ae9895b0-a62f-49d6-99d6-180b933bca97\/202310231612%20-%20(Ayala)%20Original%20Complaint.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suing<\/a> both her doctors and the American Academy\u200c of Pediatrics (AAP) over her gender transition. She is the first to target the AAP specifically.<\/p>\n<p>At \u206214, Ayala was <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/10\/26\/news\/detransitioner-sues-apa-claims-doctors-pressured-her-to-change-gender-when-she-sought-depression-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">convinced<\/a> by doctors to go on cross-sex hormones. At the time, she was suffering with suicidal \u2063thoughts, depression, and anxiety. Six months after starting testosterone, she attempted\u200c suicide. Nevertheless, she\u2062 was kept \u2064on cross-sex hormones afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Ayala suffers from vaginal atrophy, excess facial and body hair, a compromised bone structure, and unknown fertility. She still suffers episodes of anxiety \u2062and depression, and \u200bshe \u201clongs for\u200c what could have been and to have her healthy, female body \u2063back,\u201d \u2062her lawsuit says.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla Lovdahl, 18, also <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/06\/20\/kids-shouldnt-undergo-irreversible-gender-transition-surgeries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sued<\/a> \u2064Kaiser Hospitals in June for her transgender medical transition.<\/p>\n<p>Lovdahl discovered the concept of transgenderism online at age 11 and was put on both puberty blockers\u200b and testosterone \u200cat age 12. \u200dJust six\u2062 months later at 13,\u200d she had her breasts surgically\u200b removed.<\/p>\n<p>Her doctors told\u2062 her parents \u2063that, \u201cit\u2019s better to \u2063have \u200da live son than a dead daughter,\u201d her lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23848578-layla-jane-lawsuit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alleges<\/a>. However, by 17, Lovdahl regretted her\u2063 transgender medicalization.<\/p>\n<p>Both puberty blockers and cross-sex\u200d hormones come with serious health risks. Puberty blockers can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/gender-dysphoria\/in-depth\/pubertal-blockers\/art-20459075\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">affect<\/a> bone growth and density \u2064and\u2062 cause sexual dysfunction, voice damage,\u200d and infertility among other issues. Cross-sex hormones can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/transgender-young-people-in-u-s-have-nearly-doubled-recently-report-shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cause<\/a> infertility, deadly blood clots, heart attacks, increased cancer risks of the breasts and ovaries, \u200cliver dysfunction, worsening psychological illness, and other serious conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The number of gender surgeries nearly tripled in the U.S. from 2016 to 2019, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamanetworkopen\/fullarticle\/2808707?utm_source=For_The_Media&#038;utm_medium=referral&#038;utm_campaign=ftm_links&#038;utm_term=082323\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a> published in August in JAMA Network Open. \u2064In 2016, there were about 4,550 procedures, and that number \u2063spiked to around 13,000 in \u20632019.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of teen \u200dgirls in the U.S., some as young as 12, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medpagetoday.com\/pediatrics\/generalpediatrics\/101252?xid=nl_mpt_DHE_2022-10-17&#038;eun=g394940d0r&#038;utm_source=Sailthru&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_campaign=Daily%20Headlines%20Evening%202022-10-17&#038;utm_term=NL_Daily_DHE_dual-gmail-definition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">have gotten<\/a> elective, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-childrens-hospital-performs-sex-change-procedures-on-children-as-young-as-11-report\/\" title=\"Texas Children's Hospital does sex change surgeries on kids as young as 11, says report.\">gender-related double mastectomies<\/a> to remove their\u2063 healthy breasts over the last few years.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it is more popular than \u200bever for \u2063youth to adopt new gender identities.
