I\u2019d be responsible for \u201cmicroaggressions\u201d by \u200csaying things like \u200d\u201cWestern culture is superior\u201d and \u201cmen are not women.\u201d I\u2019d be responsible for \u201charmful language\u201d\u2062 for stating\u2063 that human beings ought to\u2064 be judged not based on race, but on \u2062merit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But apparently,\u2062 at the top universities in America, all of those\u200d sensitivities disappear for one group in\u200c specific:\u2063 Jews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yesterday, House Republicans held a hearing\u2062 at which \u200dthe heads of major universities were grilled regarding the rise \u200cof anti-Semitism on their campuses. Gov\">describe similar experiences<\/a>: calls for genocide, celebration of terror attacks\u200b against black Americans, physical \u2064threats. Does\u200b anyone think the respective university\u2063 presidents would \u200chave sat, grinning at the lawmakers quizzing them on\u2062 their lack of action?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But that\u2019s precisely what happened yesterday. Listen to the spin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is \u2064difficult to imagine that these icons of sensitivity and\u2064 diversity, equity and \u200cinclusion would\u200c be nearly\u200c so \u2064sanguine\u2063 about\u200b slurs \u200dagainst any other \u2063racial or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/asian-american-activists-blast-bidens-pandering-anti-racism-order\/\" title=\"Asian-American Activists Blast Biden\u2019s \u2018Pandering\u2019 Anti-Racism Order\">ethnic minority<\/a> in America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Simply put, they wouldn\u2019t.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One can \u200dmake the case for\u200b free speech on campus \u2013 \u200cI can \u200band I do \u2013\u200b but \u200done cannot pretend that universities protect students against harassment and then soft-pedal Holocaust-level rhetoric.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These university presidents don\u2019t like\u200d free\u200b speech at all. But\u200d they\u2019re perfectly fine not only mouthing language they certainly don\u2019t believe about free speech, but smiling while they\u200b do it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So, why are they so sanguine?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are two reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The Left&#8217;s Hatred for Israel<\/h2>\n<p>The Left&#8217;s animosity\u200b towards Israel stems\u200b from two\u2062 main reasons. Firstly, Israel&#8217;s success in the region, much like American Jews, is seen as\u200c a \u2063threat. According to the Left, Israel\u200d is \u200dviewed \u200cas a colonialist outpost of the West, which they consider evil due to \u2062its success, seen\u200c as exploitative\u2064 and oppressive.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, the Left attempts\u2063 to separate \u2063anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism,\u200d as they don&#8217;t want \u200dto be openly perceived as anti-Semitic. \u200cInstead,\u2064 they use anti-Zionism\u2064 as\u2063 a \u2064means to oppose Jewish\u200c and Western prosperity, disguising it as a universalistic humanitarian belief.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the fact that this \u200dideology \u200cwould result in the\u2064 death of millions of Jews\u200b and \u2063the rise of radical Muslim terrorism, the \u2062Left remains fixated on blaming Israel and \u2064the\u200d West for \u2063all\u200c the world&#8217;s\u200b problems.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Harvard\u2064 President \u2064Claudine Gay acknowledged Israel&#8217;s right\u200d to exist, but not as a Jewish state. This\u2063 is \u200bakin\u200d to \u200bsaying that \u2062Ireland\u200d has a \u200dright to exist, but not as an Irish country.<\/p>\n<h3>What Needs to Be Done?<\/h3>\n<p>Bill Ackman,\u200d CEO of Pershing Square and \u200da major donor to Harvard, argues that college presidents should resign in disgrace due to their contribution to\u200d the rise of\u2063 anti-Semitism. Secondly, the \u2062Left \u2064aligns itself with various\u200c activist groups and\u200b causes, many\u2062 of which are\u200d hostile towards Israel.\u200b They incorrectly view \u2064Israel as an\u2062 oppressor\u200c and support the Palestinian\u200c cause, even if it means ignoring or downplaying the \u2063violence \u2062and anti-Semitism perpetuated \u200bby Palestinian groups.<\/p>\n<p>As\u200b a result, many on \u2063the Left view any criticism of Israel or support for the Jewish state as \u2062a form\u200c of racism \u200bor imperialism. They label\u200b it as &#8220;hate speech&#8221; and \u200bseek to silence those who hold different views. This creates an\u2064 environment on college\u200c campuses\u2064 where speech is restricted and certain viewpoints are deemed \u2064acceptable while others are condemned.<\/p>\n<p>Double\u2062 Standards and Hypocrisy<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 double \u200dstandard \u200dwhen it comes to speech on campus \u2064is evident when comparing the treatment of pro-Israel voices with other marginalized groups. While \u2063universities claim to \u2062prioritize inclusivity and diversity,\u200c they seem\u2063 to \u2063ignore or dismiss the concerns \u200cof \u200bJewish students who face \u2062anti-Semitism on campus.<\/p>\n<p>If any other minority group faced the same level of hatred and threats as Jewish students,\u2064 there would be outrage\u2064 and swift\u200d action. But when it comes to anti-Semitism, universities often turn a\u2062 blind eye and \u2063fail\u2062 to protect Jewish students. This not only \u200cshows a disregard for their well-being \u200cbut also undermines the supposed\u200b commitment to inclusivity and\u2063 diversity that these institutions\u2063 claim to uphold.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 Impact on Jewish Students<\/p>\n<p>The rise of anti-Semitism on college \u200dcampuses has a detrimental impact on Jewish students. They may feel isolated, unsafe, and\u2064 targeted for \u200ctheir\u2063 religious and\u200d cultural identity.
