Most\u200d of it \u200cis shameless fearmongering, but there\u2019s something else going on too.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are afraid that if Trump is elected he\u2019ll do to them precisely what they\u2019re currently doing to him. When Trump fearmongers in the media cry out with\u2062 one voice that Trump will weaponize \u2063the Justice Department\u2062 and the courts, rig our elections, and shred the Constitution,\u2063 it\u2019s pure projection. Because that\u2019s <em>exactly what they\u2019re\u200d doing<\/em> <em>right now<\/em> in \u200ba desperate bid to \u2064prevent Trump from winning office again.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It should\u2063 go without saying that this \u200csuddenly ubiquitous media genre \u200dis extremely \u200ddangerous. As my colleague Mollie Hemingway\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MZHemingway\/status\/1731835390632280261?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aptly put \u200dit<\/a> in response \u2063to\u2064 a\u2063 hysterical Trump-as-dictator piece by Robert Kagan in The Washington\u200b Post, \u200cyou might as well call \u2062it \u201cassassination prep.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The Republic at Stake<\/h3>\n<p>That\u2019s according to their own logic. \u200dAfter all, these people claim the\u2063 republic itself is at stake and that we\u2019re \u200cabout to descend into autocracy. Liz Cheney went on NBC News over the weekend to flog her new book and\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charliekirk11\/status\/1731712851088445673\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warn<\/a> in \u2063dire tones that\u200d in a second Trump term there\u2019ll be \u201cno\u200b guardrails that can stop \u200bhim.\u201d She says\u2062 if Trump wins he\u2019ll become a fascist dictator, never leave office, and plunge the United States\u200d into tyranny.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s not alone in this absurd \u200cbelief. The prospect \u2064of dictator Trump is more or less \u2063the \u2063entire theme of a new\u200c special edition of The Atlantic, ominously titled \u201cIf Trump \u2063Wins,\u201d for\u200c which the magazine\u2019s \u200dwriters\u2062 dutifully churned out <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheAtlantic\/status\/1731671597814063415?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two dozen essays<\/a> fantasizing about the\u2064 hellscape America will\u200b become if \u2064Trump is ever allowed back into the Oval Office. Nearly \u200bevery facet of our national life would be left in ruins, they\u200b say, and America will be changed forever.<\/p>\n<p>CNN\u2019s \u2064Jake\u200b Tapper was apparently so <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1731807831005761552?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scared out of his wits<\/a> by these \u2062essays, he brought some of the writers\u2064 and editors onto his show to talk about their prognostications of doom for the republic under Trump \u2014 including, Tapper said with a straight \u200bface, \u201chow women could be targeted\u201d under a Trump \u201cretribution presidency.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg replied to Tapper that a second-term Trump would be \u201cbent on\u200b revenge,\u201d because he \u201cknows how he was thwarted\u201d the first time. Well, yes \u2014 but not necessarily in the \u2064way Goldberg means it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The \u200dReal Thwarting of Trump<\/h3>\n<p>Trump was certainly thwarted the first time around \u2014 not \u200dthwarted in some dictatorial scheme but in the normal exercise\u200c of \u2064his office. A deeply corrupt media\u200b establishment \u2014\u2064 including the likes\u2062 of Tapper and Goldberg \u2014 worked hand-in-glove with anti-Trump elements in the federal bureaucracy to peddle the Russia-collusion hoax in an unprecedented attempt to oust him from \u2063office or, failing that, undermine his presidency. During the \u20622020 election, many of these same elements succeeded in suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story. And after Jan. 6, 2021, they\u200d have cheered on the blatant weaponization of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/victor-davis-hanson-the-thinnest-veneer-of-civilization\/\" title=\"Victor Davis Hanson: The Thinnest Veneer of Civilization\">justice system unleashed<\/a>\u200c by Biden and the \u2063Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>You almost\u2063 have \u200dto admire the audacity of Democrats actively doing to Trump everything they say Trump will do to them if he regains the White House. You can\u2019t get more on-the-nose in this regard\u2063 than a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/12\/04\/us\/politics\/trump-2025-overview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">triple-bylined piece<\/a> that ran in The New York \u200bTimes on Monday warning, \u200c\u201cMr. Trump\u2019s vow to use the \u200cJustice Department to wreak vengeance against his adversaries is \u2062a naked challenge to democratic \u2063values. Building on how he tried \u200dto get prosecutors to go after \u200chis enemies\u2062 while in office, it would \u2062end the post-Watergate norm of investigative independence from White House political control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s almost \u200blike the\u2062 Times is trolling its \u200dreaders with \u2063this. \u200cSurely\u2062 the reporters \u200cand editors behind this laughable piece of agitprop know that this is <em>exactly<\/em> what the Biden Justice Department and powerful Democrats nationwide are now doing to Trump. The idea that Merrick Garland is some sort of straight-shooting attorney \u200bgeneral is a joke. Not one person in America really believes \u2064it.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>So what \u2063do Democrats and their media courtesans \u2063do? They lean into the gaslighting, claiming over and over in the most outlandish terms that a second Trump term will\u2062 bring about everything\u2064 that\u2019s \u2064happening now under President Biden.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The Desperation for Power<\/h3>\n<p>Why? Because they\u2019re desperate. They know that\u200d owing to the\u2063 weakness and corruption and unpopularity of the current president, there\u2019s a chance Trump just might win next year. That\u2019s why Democrat\u200c attorneys general and federal prosecutors want\u2063 so desperately to convict him of a crime, any crime, and why editors \u2063and writers at the \u2063Times and The Atlantic will say almost anything to scare voters with horror stories about what will \u2062happen if Trump wins.<\/p>\n<p>They also crave power. For people like Cheney and Kagan and Goldberg and every\u200d other establishment player, Trump\u2019s great crime wasn\u2019t anything he did or said on Jan. 6, \u2062it was that he won the election in November 2016. That wasn\u2019t supposed to \u200dhappen. Democrats and the permanent regime in Washington\u200c were supposed to remain in power forever.\u200d Trump had the audacity \u2062to win, and they can\u2019t let it happen again.<\/p>\n<p>In that effort, they\u2019re \u2062willing\u2062 to do and say almost \u2063anything. Throughout Trump\u2019s stint in office,\u200d Democrats, establishment Republicans like Cheney, and\u2062 nearly every major media outlet\u200b worked overtime to trample norms, bend the rules, break\u2063 various laws, and undermine a duly elected president simply \u200cbecause \u200cthey were incensed that they weren\u2019t in power.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that when they say what\u200b Trump will do\u200c in a second \u200dterm. They\u2019re doing it right now.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How have the Democratic \u2063Party \u200dand \u2063the media weaponized the justice system and\u200c courts against Trump \u2064and his allies?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  \u2063 E article\u200c are aware of the irony in their words. They \u200baccuse\u200c Trump of threatening democratic values \u2063and using the Justice Department\u2063 as a weapon, while conveniently ignoring the fact\u200b that this\u200d is exactly\u2064 what they have been doing for the past\u2063 four years.<\/p>\n<p>This hypocrisy runs deep within \u2062the Democratic Party and\u2062 the media. They claim to be\u2064 defenders of democracy, but their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/patagonia-donates-1-million-to-defending-democracy-dana-loesch-fires-back-patagonia-has-13-factories-in-china\/\" title=\"Patagonia Donates  Million To \u2018Defending Democracy,\u2019 Dana Loesch Fires Back. \u2018Patagonia Has 13 Factories In China\u2019\">actions speak louder<\/a> than their words. \u200bThey have weaponized the justice system \u2063and the courts \u200bto target Trump\u2062 and his allies. They have suppressed stories and information\u2064 that could be \u2063damaging to their own agenda. And \u200cnow, they \u200cwarn of the dangers of Trump doing the same if he\u2064 is reelected.<\/p>\n<p>But what these fearmongers fail\u200c to realize\u200d is that \u200btheir tactics only\u2064 further\u200d divide the country and undermine \u200dthe very foundation of democracy. Their \u2062relentless attacks \u200con Trump and his supporters have \u2062created a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/university-of-chicago-poll-shows-americans-distrust-of-their-own-government-extremely-high\/\" title=\"University of Chicago Poll Shows Americans Distrust of Their Own Government Extremely High\">toxic political climate<\/a> \u2062where dissenting opinions are \u200dsilenced and \u200ddemonized. They have sowed distrust in our institutions and eroded the public&#8217;s\u200b faith in the electoral process.<\/p>\n<p>If Trump wins, it will not be because he rigged the elections \u200bor shredded the Constitution. It will be because the\u2062 American people\u2062 have\u2062 grown tired of the double standards, the hypocrisy, and the constant \u2062barrage of attacks \u200bon their\u2063 chosen leader. \u2063They will have voted for a candidate who promises to put America first \u2062and restore \u200cintegrity\u200d to our government.<\/p>\n<p>So, let this be a warning\u200c to\u2062 those who continue to peddle fear and division. The \u200dAmerican people are \u200bnot \u2063blind to your tactics. They see\u200d through\u200c your \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-left-never-wants-you-freed-from-politics\/\" title=\"The Left Never Wants You Freed From Politics\">thinly veiled attempts<\/a> \u200bto undermine \u2063the democratic process. And if Trump wins, it will be a resounding rejection of your fearmongering and a\u2064 testament to the strength of democracy.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2062 the \u200cend, it is up\u200b to the American people \u200bto\u200b decide the future of our country. \u200cThey \u2063have the power to see through the lies and\u2064 the hypocrisy. They have the\u200b power to \u2063choose a leader who will unite us, \u2062rather than divide us. And they \u2062have the power to ensure that the dangers ahead, if any, are\u200c not brought about\u2063 by the actions of a single individual, but by the collective\u200d will of the American \u200bpeople.<\/p>\n<p>So, let us put aside the fear \u2063and the division. Let us come together as a nation \u200cand embrace the\u200b principles that have\u200d made us\u200b strong.
