California Governor \u2062Takes a Stand Against Hamas \u2062Sympathizers<\/h2>\n
Earlier this week, California Gov.\u2064 Gavin Newsom \u2014 who is clearly running for president without technically running<\/a> \u2014\u200b issued a rebuke to the pro-Hamas wing of his own\u200c Democratic Party (a surprisingly large cohort, that), declaring in a tweet<\/a> that Hamas \u2062is\u200d a terrorist\u2063 organization and must be called what it is: evil.<\/p>\n
The tweet was \u200bin \u2062response\u200c to a video of what happened when the Oakland \u200dCity Council recently voted on a resolution calling for a ceasefire between Israel\u200c and Hamas. During the debate, a\u2063 city \u2063council member<\/a> tried to \u2063insert language \u2062condemning Hamas \u2014 and all hell broke loose<\/a>. Turns out there were a \u2062lot of frankly\u2063 antisemitic terrorist sympathizers in the crowd that\u2062 day, just \u2062as there are a \u2062lot of\u200b them in the \u2064Democratic\u2062 Party at large, it seems.<\/p>\n

Unveiling \u200dthe \u2064Disturbing Views of Hamas\u200d Apologists<\/h3>\n
These people aren\u2019t afraid to be candid\u2064 about \u200ctheir repugnant views. \u2063At the Oakland City Council meeting, a parade\u2062 of outraged Hamas apologists came to \u200bthe mic to insist\u2062 there were no\u200b babies beheaded or women raped by Hamas, and that actually<\/em> \u201cIsrael\u200c murdered their own \u2064people\u201d on \u200bOct. 7. We\u200b also found out from \u200cthese\u200b speakers \u200cthat condemning Hamas is racist, that Hamas has \u2064a \u200cright to \u201cresist occupation,\u201d that there was \u2063no massacre of Jews on Oct. 7, \u2063and that \u2062anyone who says otherwise is \u2062peddling \u201catrocity \u2064propaganda\u201d and is also \u2063a white supremacist.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Since \u200dOct. 7, we have learned \u2063that these are what pass for ordinary views \u200damong a sizeable cohort of the\u200d American left, which seems to have followed\u200d its own oppressor\/oppressed\u200b logic to its demented conclusion. According \u2064this twisted \u200bview of the world,\u200b raping, baby-murdering Hamas terrorists\u2064 are heroes of the \u2062resistance, and \u2063innocent Israeli\u200b children are \u201coccupiers.\u201d\u2062 Every major U.S. city over the past six \u2063weeks has had massive pro-Palestine rallies (and some riots) at which nakedly antisemitic slogans<\/a> are chanted, including ones like \u201cfrom the river to the sea,\u201d a favorite of Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, that\u2062 explicitly\u2063 call for \u2062ethnic \u200dcleansing of Israelis and Jews.<\/p>\n
Some Democrats, like Newsom and Senate \u200bMajority Leader Chuck \u2063Schumer, who gave a speech condemning antisemitism \u2064on the left<\/a> in the Senate on Wednesday, realize they have a serious problem\u200d on their hands.\u2063 The \u2063problem is this: Ordinary\u200b people are \u2063repulsed by\u200b all of this. To the\u200b extent Democrats become the party of keffiyeh-wearing Hamas supporters and Jew-haters, a\u200c lot\u200d of \u2063middle-of-the-road voters are going to\u200d back away\u200c slowly. They\u200d might \u2064not \u200cvote for Trump in 2024,\u200b but they\u2019ll \u200bdo what amounts to the same thing for Democrats and just sit it out.<\/p>\n
Remember, Democrats\u2063 pulled out\u2062 every dirty trick (and invented some new\u2062 ones) to rig the 2020 election against Trump and\u2064 boost\u2063 voter turnout to levels\u2063 never before seen in U.S. history, and even then Biden only\u200d won the Electoral\u2064 College by \u200d44,000 votes in three swing states. If \u200bjust a handful of Democrats and independents are \u2064so turned \u2064off\u2064 by the\u2063 left\u2019s pro-Hamas, pro-genocide wing of the Democrat Party \u2062that\u2063 they opt \u200bto stay home on \u2064Election\u2062 Day, \u2064they can\u2019t win.<\/p>\n

Newsom’s Message \u2063to \u200bthe Democratic \u2062Coalition<\/h3>\n
Newsom is smart, and \u200che knows \u200cthis. That\u2019s why he \u2064clapped\u2064 back at \u200dthe Hamas supporters \u2064in Oakland. He wasn\u2019t just disciplining the left wing \u200cof the party publicly, he was also talking \u200dto \u200dthe entire Democrat \u2064coalition, and his message was: Cut\u2063 it out<\/em>. We have a general election to win.\u2063 Normal \u200cpeople \u200cdon\u2019t want to hear \u2064insane antisemitic conspiracy theories justifying \u200bthe slaughter \u200bof babies and \u2062the\u2062 raping and mutilating \u200dof women and children.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Critics on the right\u2063 might be tempted to \u2063sneer \u200bthat Newsom is reaping what he and other Democrat leaders have sown. Public backlash is what predictably happens when you encourage and nurture radical\u200c elements in your coalition, deploying \u2062them \u2063as brownshirts to \u2064crush your enemies \u200dwhen it\u2019s \u200cconvenient.<\/p>\n
What \u2064many such \u200bcritics don\u2019t seem to get is that leftists like Newsom \u2062aren\u2019t\u2063 worried\u200d about consistency or principles. \u2063They care \u200babout power, \u200dand they\u2019ll do anything\u2062 to seize and wield it \u2014 even if it\u200d means\u2064 wielding it \u2062against their\u200c own people. \u200dThe radical elements are\u200c proving to be an obstacle? Rein them \u2063in. \u2063Denounce them. \u200cGaslight the public about \u2062them. Direct the corporate press\u200d to explain how these radicals aren\u2019t true Democrats, don\u2019t represent\u2063 the values of the left,\u2064 and so on.<\/p>\n

Tactical Adjustments \u200dfor Political Gain<\/h3>\n
When \u200bthe radicals become useful at some later point, they\u2064 will be reinstated. All \u2064will be \u200cforgiven \u2014 \u2063not even forgiven, just forgotten. Criticizing them will be forbidden, as we\u2019ve seen \u200cwith Black Lives Matter and transgender\u2063 radicals. When this happens, arguing that it\u2019s hypocritical, or \u200dpointing out that these \u2064radicals made possible \u2064the ascension \u2064of Newsom, who pandered to and\u2063 encouraged them, will be a waste\u2062 of time. Newsom doesn\u2019t care.\u2064 Like any good\u200c leftist, his only consistent principle is a desire for power. Words are weapons to him; they have no\u200d fixed meaning.\u2062 He will deploy them \u200das he must to gain and retain power.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
In a contest like this, the perennial lesson \u2062for the right is that you can\u2019t argue or \u200dreason \u200dwith the likes of Newsom. \u200bAs the eccentric and\u200b bizarre president-elect of Argentina, Javier Milei, \u2063famously said<\/a>, \u201cYou can\u2019t give sh-t\u200d leftards an inch.\u201d You have to \u200cstop\u2064 them, or\u2062 they will destroy your country.<\/p>\n

The fact that these\u2064 rallies\u2062 have received significant support<\/a> from members\u2062 of the Democratic Party, including leading figures like Rep. \u2062Rashida Tlaib, is\u200d deeply troubling.<\/p>\n
