We don&#8217;t know that. \u2062But if anybody thinks that Hamas acted on their own or without approval from Iran, I think they misunderstand why Iran\u200b has given\u2062 them all these weapons over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration, anxious \u200dto avoid a wider war\u200c in \u2064the region, reviewed the intelligence and gave Tehran a pass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo question that there&#8217;s a degree of complicity here, but Iran has been supporting Hamas for many, many years\u2064 \u2014 tools, \u2062training, capabilities \u2014 certainly rhetorically,\u201d National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said \u200bon\u2062 Oct. 10. \u201cThat\u2063 said \u2026 we haven&#8217;t seen hard,\u200c tangible evidence that Iran was directly involved in participating in or resourcing and planning these sets of complex attacks \u200cthat Hamas pulled \u200doff over the\u200d weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u200b and similar answers\u200b didn&#8217;t satisfy Bolton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe administration is twisting itself\u2062 into a pretzel to \u200davoid pointing the finger at Iran because\u2062 they know if they do, then they&#8217;re \u2064going to have to do\u200b something,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of directly confronting Iran, \u200dBiden ordered more air, ground, and sea\u2064 forces deployed to the region, including two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/will-biden-abandon-taiwan\/\" title=\"Will Biden Abandon Taiwan?\">aircraft carrier strike groups<\/a>, and addressed the nation on Oct. 20 from the White House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran \u2026 is supporting Hamas \u2064and other terrorist\u200b groups in the\u2063 region,\u201d Biden said. \u201cAnd we\u2019ll continue to hold \u200dthem accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just \u2062two days earlier, Iran, through its proxies in Syria, began what would be a five-week period in which more \u200bthan 70 separate drone and rocket attacks were \u200ccarried\u200c out against U.S. forces\u2064 in \u2063Iraq and Syria, with a U.S. contractor dying of a\u200d heart attack and\u2064 more than 60 \u200dU.S. troops injured with at least 20\u200b suffering TBIs, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-gary-sinise-launches-new-initiative-with-home-depot-founders\/\" title=\"WATCH: Gary Sinise Launches New Initiative With Home Depot Founders\">traumatic brain injuries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The United States didn\u2019t respond immediately, \u200dbut eventually, on Oct. 26, it carried out airstrikes against unoccupied warehouses used\u2062 for weapons storage by the Iranian-backed militants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran wants to\u2062 hide its hand and deny its role in these attacks \u200cagainst our forces. We will not let them,\u201d Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin\u200d said \u2064in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Five days later, during an appearance before the \u200bSenate Appropriations Committee, Austin\u2063 was repeatedly grilled about why the U.S. was unwilling to strike at the root \u200bof the \u2063problem. \u201cThe great Satan is Iran, not Israel, and it&#8217;s not the\u2064 United States,\u201d Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said in his questioning of Austin. \u201cCan we tell the Iranians today, in case they&#8217;re watching, \u2018If\u2063 an American is killed \u2062by your proxies\u2064 in Syria and Iraq, we&#8217;re coming for you.\u2019 Can you\u2064 say that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Austin replied,\u200c \u201cI think Iran should be held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish you would be more clear,\u201d a \u2062frustrated Graham responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are we not striking back more forcefully? Why are we not delivering a resounding message to stop those strikes on our bases and on our troops?\u201d Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND) asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety of \u200dour troops is very, very important to me and the president,\u201d Austin said. \u200c\u201cWe maintain the right to respond at a place and time of\u2063 our choosing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, in late November, the U.S. employed an AC-130 \u201cGhostrider\u201d gunship, a cargo\u200b plane modified to carry a side-mounted 105\u200b mm cannon, to take out Iranian-backed forces observed firing a ballistic missile toward U.S. \u200btroops.<\/p>\n<p>And\u200d a third retaliatory strike destroyed a suspected command and\u2062 control center, killing half a dozen\u200d members of the Iranian proxy group Kataib Hezbollah.<\/p>\n<p>Critics of the Pentagon response dismiss the three strikes as pinpricks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2063president keeps talking about the fear of escalation. Fear of escalation ensures escalation. The way to stop it is to establish escalation dominance \u200bover a terror-supporting regime like Iran,\u201d Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), a former Army officer, said \u2063in an interview on Fox News Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran has attacked American positions in\u2062 the Middle \u2062East, I\u2063 think now over 150 times, and just in the last month, it&#8217;s over 70 times,\u201d Cotton said. \u200d\u201cWe&#8217;ve only hit back a few times. When we do \u200chit back, it&#8217;s almost always\u2063 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senator-cotton-a-massive-retaliation-against-iran-directly-is-only-way-to-stop-attacks-on-u-s-forces\/\" title=\"Sen. Cotton: Only Massive Retaliation Can Halt Iran's Attacks on US Forces\">empty proxy warehouses<\/a> or maybe proxy forces in Iraq and Syria. It seems like the president wants to go out of\u2062 his way to avoid Iranian\u2064 casualties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Retired Gen. Jack Keane, former vice chief of staff \u2064of the Army, agrees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHitting the proxies is not going to stop\u200d them,\u201d Keane said on \u200dFox, on which he \u2062is a senior military \u200danalyst. \u201cI have said that multiple times. \u2026 We have had two presidents that figured out \u2063how to deal with Iran and its use\u200b of proxies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That would be Presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald \u2063Trump, Keane argues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] was attacking \u2062our ships in the Persian Gulf when we were escorting them through the Persian Gulf. [Reagan] took out their bases and hit\u200b their oil platforms,\u201d Keane said, referring to the 1988 U.S. operation in the Persian Gulf\u200d in response to Iran\u2019s mining of international waters \u200bduring \u2063the Iran-Iraq War.<\/p>\n<p>Trump,\u2063 Keane says, \u201ctook out the IRGC leader,\u201d \u200bQassem Soleimani, in a drone strike on Jan. 3, 2020. Now, he says, \u201cWe have to \u200dgo after the IRGC training.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter Donald Trump directed the killing of Soleimani in \u2064Iraq, Iran&#8217;s terrorist mastermind, Iran pulled in its horns for the rest\u2062 of Trump&#8217;s era,\u201d Cotton said. \u201cThe way to stop these attacks is not\u2062 to be fearful and hesitant and cautious \u200bin a response, but massive retaliation\u200d to make it clear we will not \u200btolerate these attacks on Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon has downplayed the seriousness of the strikes launched against U.S. forces\u2062 in Iraq\u200b and Syria, noting that most of the attacks have caused little damage and only minor injuries to troops who quickly returned to duty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe take\u2063 any injury seriously, but these were not serious injuries,\u201d Sabrina Singh,\u2062 deputy Pentagon press secretary, said at a Nov. \u206316 briefing. \u201cI\u2064 think that&#8217;s important \u200bto remember, \u200con these attacks, that these attacks have\u2064 been largely unsuccessful, \u200dthat they have not damaged significant infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe United States took military action three different times and fully degraded some\u2064 of their facilities,\u201d Singh said. \u201cSo, I think in terms of our response, we&#8217;ve been very effective in responding back and sending a message to Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frustration in Congress about the\u200b seemingly cavalier\u2062 dismissal of the threat to U.S. forces helped forge \u2062a bipartisan alliance for a resolution urging Biden to keep all options on the table \u2062for deterring Iran, including military force. Participants included Graham and Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Katie Britt (R-AL), John Thune (R-SD),\u200b Susan Collins (R-ME), Richard Blumenthal \u2063(D-CT), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bipartisan resolution urges peace but is prepared \u200cto hold Iran accountable for terrorist activities and any escalation,\u201d Graham \u2064said in a statement. \u201cIf Iran escalates, \u200dthe set of targets should \u200dbe in Iran \u2014 \u2064not Syria or Iraq.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran is a toxic, malign influence,\u201d Blumenthal said. \u201cThere is \u200dstrong bipartisan common ground here at home and consensus in the region: Deterrence is critical to prevent a widening war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense-national-security\/iran-terrorist-attacks-us-forces-iraq-syria\">CLICK HERE \u200dTO READ MORE \u200bFROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What measures should the\u200b international\u2064 community take to counter Iran&#8217;s \u2063terrorist ideology\u2062 and ensure regional stability<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Sive, overwhelming, and decisive. They launch \u2064a hundred airstrikes inside\u2062 of 24 \u2064hours \u200cat just about \u2063every important Hamas target.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keane emphasizes that the U.S. should focus on targeting\u200d the IRGC, Iran\u2019s \u200cIslamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is responsible for supporting and training\u200d proxy forces across the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we have not gone after the IRGC nearly hard enough. That&#8217;s \u200bwhere the Iranian leadership\u200d resides,\u201d \u2064Keane said.<\/p>\n<p>Iran&#8217;s support for terrorist proxies is not a new\u200c phenomenon. For decades, Iran has been the main sponsor of terrorism in the region and beyond. It provides funding, weapons, and training to various extremist groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in\u200b Palestine, and\u200d Shiite militias in Iraq and\u200d Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Iran&#8217;s ultimate goal is to destabilize the region and spread its radical ideology. It seeks\u2063 to establish a hegemonic position and exert control over\u200c neighboring countries. Its support for \u2063terrorism is a means to achieve these objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The recent attacks carried out by Iran-backed\u2063 groups against\u2063 U.S. forces and allies clearly \u2063demonstrate the\u200b malevolent\u2064 nature of Iran&#8217;s terrorist ideology. These attacks targeted military bases, diplomatic missions, and civilian infrastructure, causing casualties and destruction.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Iran has been \u2063involved in numerous covert \u200doperations and assassinations targeting dissidents and opposition figures abroad. This includes the 2011 plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the U.S. in Washington, D.C., and the\u2064 killing of Iranian dissidents in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all the evidence\u2062 of Iran&#8217;s involvement \u200cin terrorism, some policymakers and analysts continue to downplay its role. They argue for\u2063 a more cautious approach, fearing that a strong response could \u200descalate tensions and lead to\u200c a wider conflict.<\/p>\n<p>However, history has\u200c shown that appeasement \u200band inaction only embolden aggressors. Iran&#8217;s support \u200cfor terrorism will\u200b not cease unless \u200dit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/southern-california-man-arrested-for-allegedly-stealing-4-million-worth-of-computers\/\" title=\"SoCal man arrested for stealing M worth of computers.\">faces severe consequences<\/a> for its actions.<\/p>\n<p>The international community must \u2062stand united against Iran&#8217;s malevolent terrorist ideology. It should impose strict economic sanctions, cut off sources of funding,\u200c and take decisive military action when necessary to neutralize Iran&#8217;s proxy forces.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, diplomatic efforts\u200c should focus on isolating Iran and exposing its support for terrorism. Countries that continue to engage\u200d with Iran should be\u2063 held accountable\u200c for enabling its destructive behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Iran&#8217;s terrorist ideology poses a grave threat to regional\u2063 stability and global security. It \u2063is imperative that the international community\u2064 recognizes the severity of this\u200c threat and takes collective action to counter it.<\/p>\n<p>Failure to confront Iran&#8217;s malevolent terrorist ideology will only lead to further suffering and bloodshed.
