Frank, along with 12 other veterans, was a resident at Island Shores Senior Residence,\u2064 until they were kicked out earlier \u2064this year when the property was sold to \u201cHomes for\u2063 the Homeless.\u201d The property is now a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-post-cover-hits-biden-over-migrant-crisis-pictures-president-didnt-want-you-to-see\/\" title=\"New York Post Cover Hits Biden Over Migrant Crisis: \u2018Pictures President Didn\u2019t Want You To See\u2019\">migrant shelter<\/a>. We\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/n80gssLkeo\">pic.twitter.com\/n80gssLkeo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mike Tannousis\u2062 (@MikeTannousis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MikeTannousis\/status\/1706462764296802542?\">September 26, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>  Tammaro had \u2063lived at Island Shores\u200d for five years.\u201dIt\u2019s no joke getting thrown out of a\u2064 house,\u201d \u2064he told \u2063Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>The facility\u2019s owner initially assured residents that the buyer would likely be another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/aoc-staffer-says-govt-healthcare-will-deny-seniors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">senior care<\/a> operator who would reopen the home.<\/p>\n<p>Tammaro\u2019s daughter, Barbara Annunziata, said she\u200c knew\u200c something was not right. \u201cWe knew something \u2063was going to go in there,\u201d she said. \u201cThey \u2064kept saying, \u2018Oh, they\u2019re going to\u2063 sell it. They\u2019re going to sell it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, in August, it was\u200d revealed that Island Shores had\u200d been sold to the city\u2062 to house \u2063newly arrived migrants, with \u200c15 asylum-seeking families moving into the vacant facility in September.<\/p>\n<p>Island Shores was \u2063one \u2063of over 200 sites across New York City that have been \u200chastily converted to emergency shelters in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>This massive mobilization \u200daims to provide housing for the flood of 130,000\u200c migrants who\u200b have entered New York City since October 2022 after crossing \u2064into the country illegally\u2064 along the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>The news outraged local residents, spurring protests outside\u2063 Island Shores.<\/p>\n<p>Assemblyman Michael \u200bTannousis complained at a September news \u2063conference, \u201cThe\u200d City of\u200c New York has been \u2064employing a practice of\u200d opening \u200dmigrant shelters and placing\u200c migrants into shelters under the cover of darkness,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/11\/30\/news\/army-vet-kicked-out-of-nyc-nursing-home-to-make-room-for-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> \u200breported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are not keeping the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manhunt-underway-for-ex-football-player-suspected-in-university-of-virginia-shooting\/\" title=\"Manhunt Underway for Ex-Football Player Suspected in University of Virginia Shooting\">community apprised<\/a>,\u2062 and they are not\u2062 keeping the elected\u2064 officials apprised. This has caused a sense of panic \u200bamongst\u200b the constituency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With limited \u200cmobility and requiring daily assisted living care, Tammaro\u200d struggled to find a new \u2064facility\u2063 that could meet his needs.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2062 hated the new facility that he ended up\u200c in, and \u200deventually, after a fall, \u2062moved in with his daughter, Annunziata, who\u2064 now\u200d cares for him full-time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy\u200c should he\u200c live the\u200b rest of his life someplace\u2064 he didn\u2019t like?\u201dAnnunziata said.<\/p>\n<p>For Annunziata, the situation added insult to injury. After having to take her elderly father into her home, she struggled to get him\u200b care and services, while migrants seemed to be getting \u2063robust government \u2063assistance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re worried about the migrants\u2064 more than they\u2019re worried about the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/outrage-court-ruling-allows-state-seize-citizens-indefinite-quarantine-isolation-due-process-no\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">citizens<\/a>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Annunziata\u2063 said she can\u2019t\u2064 even get an aide for her father for more than 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/migrants-take-san-diego-airport-set-camp-many-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">migrants<\/a>, they\u2019re getting everything.
