Just last cycle, McCarthy raised $28.2‍ million in his campaign committee alone,⁤ not including his leadership committees or groups‍ aligned with him. On the ‌contrary, coming into the job, Speaker Mike ⁢Johnson (R-LA) was an inexperienced fundraiser who had only ever raised ⁤$6.1 ⁢million since being elected in 2016, and there were concerns ⁤that Johnson ‌and groups aligned‍ with him would struggle to raise money to ⁢hold the House ‌majority.

Continued Fundraising Prowess

But, those fears have not been⁢ substantiated as groups aligned⁣ with ‌House Republicans have continued their fundraising prowess.

Right after Johnson became⁣ speaker, the National Republican Congressional Committee, the campaign arm of ‌House Republicans, reported⁢ a single-day⁢ haul of $175,000 for online fundraising, marking its highest day since February 2022.⁣ That cycle record was broken just one day later, resulting in ‌a total haul of‌ more than $475,000⁤ over the first weekend with him as ‍speaker.

It’s not just Johnson ⁤either; other members of House Republican Leadership are stepping up to help fund the NRCC as well, transferring millions of dollars to the‍ campaign committee.

In a closed-door conference meeting ‍on Wednesday, both Johnson and House Majority Leader ⁢Steve Scalise (R-LA)‌ announced ‌they ‌were transferring a combined $4.5 million to the committee.

Johnson transferred ‌$2.5 million, and Scalise transferred $2 million. This combined transfer is nearly the full‍ amount that the NRCC raised in October.

“Growing the majority is a team effort, and we are fortunate to have excellent partners like Speaker‍ Johnson⁤ and Majority Leader Scalise,” NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert said in⁤ a statement.

Johnson has also been hitting the fundraising trail‌ as well. On ⁢Monday, he attended a ‍fundraiser‌ in Florida with Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL), where he raked in $1.4 million. He will also be in New York over the weekend for the NRCC donor retreat. While in New York, ⁣he will be hosted‍ at ⁢a fundraiser by Blackstone’s Steve ‍Schwarzman and Wayne Berman. This fundraiser⁢ will benefit Johnson’s newly formed joint fundraising ⁢committee and other New York candidates.

He will also attend a ⁢fundraiser for swing ⁢district ‍Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY).

Endorsement Boosts Fundraising

On the ⁣other hand,‌ the super-PAC Congressional ‌Leadership Fund and the non-profit American Action⁣ Network, both of which are closely aligned with Johnson, raised $16 million in the 10 days after the newly elected speaker endorsed the group’s‌ leadership,⁣ easing concerns of the group’s ability to rake in money in a post-McCarthy ⁢era.

CLICK ⁤HERE TO⁤ READ MORE FROM⁤ THE ⁢WASHINGTON EXAMINER

⁢ How has Speaker Mike Johnson played a role in House Republicans’ fundraising success?

‍ , 2021. This strong start bodes well for the⁢ party as they look to secure funds for the upcoming midterm elections.

In addition to the National Republican Congressional Committee, ⁢other groups aligned with House Republicans have also seen success in their fundraising efforts. ‌The Congressional Leadership Fund, a‌ super PAC dedicated to supporting Republican candidates for the House, announced that it had raised $10.6 million in the first quarter of 2021, surpassing its previous record for a non-election year. This impressive fundraising total‌ indicates strong support and enthusiasm for House ‍Republicans ‌among donors and grassroots supporters.

One factor that may have contributed to the fundraising success of House Republicans is the perception of Speaker Mike Johnson as a capable leader. Despite his limited experience as a‍ fundraiser, Johnson has ⁢proven himself to be a skilled communicator and effective advocate for Republican policies. His ability to ⁣articulate the party’s message and rally support has likely resonated with donors, leading to increased financial contributions.

Another factor that cannot‌ be overlooked is the ongoing dedication and hard work of House Republicans in their fundraising efforts. While fundraising can be a challenging and time-consuming task, House Republicans have demonstrated their commitment to securing the resources necessary to maintain their majority in the House. This dedication has paid off, as evidenced by the impressive fundraising ⁤numbers⁤ reported by various campaign arms and aligned groups.

Furthermore, the continued enthusiasm and engagement of Republican‌ donors and supporters should not be underestimated. Despite a challenging political landscape and the ongoing impact of ⁤the‍ COVID-19 pandemic, the commitment of Republican ‍donors to supporting House Republicans has remained strong. This unwavering ⁣support speaks ⁢to the party’s strong ⁣base and its ability to inspire loyalty and dedication among its‍ supporters.

Looking ahead, the fundraising success of House Republicans will be crucial as⁣ they seek to defend their majority in the midterm elections. With the Democratic Party eager to regain control of the House, House Republicans‌ must continue to mobilize their supporters, rally financial resources, and⁣ effectively ⁣communicate their message⁢ to voters. The impressive fundraising numbers seen thus far indicate a strong foundation upon which House⁢ Republicans can build ‌their campaign strategy.

The fundraising success ⁢of House Republicans has defied expectations and showcases the party’s resilience and determination. Despite the departure of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, House ⁤Republicans have proven ‍their ability to adapt and thrive. With Speaker Mike Johnson at the ⁢helm⁣ and the‌ continued support of donors and grassroots supporters, House Republicans are well-positioned for success in the upcoming elections.

Despite concerns, House Republicans’ campaign arms have not experienced a significant decline in fundraising after the removal of ex-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
