It seems that being “woke” and catering to the latest news-worthy “ism” has made it difficult for shoppers \u2062to\u200c have \u200ca \u200bsafe experience in\u2064 retail stores, while also putting low-wage \u200demployees at risk.<\/p>\n
Recently, hundreds of retail workers went on strike \u200boutside\u200b a Macy’s \u200cstore in\u2062 Washington to demand improved worker \u2064rights and safety policies. The strike\u2064 aimed to bring attention to\u2063 the\u200d lack of clear policies on handling security threats\u2063 and when to call 911.\u2063 Workers expressed feeling unsafe\u200c due to short staffing and stretched \u200ccoverage.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Macy’s is not the\u200b only store prioritizing criminals over their\u200d own employees. Target has also been\u2062 accused of preventing authorities\u200d from apprehending shoplifters in their \u200dstores.
