Jill Biden\u2019s first mistake was ridding the State Dining Room mantle of any personalized stockings for her grandchildren so she wouldn\u2019t have to include Hunter Biden\u2019s love child Navy Joan Roberts<\/a>. A close second was the First Lady\u2019s decision to turn the White House Christmas display \u2014 one of the largest<\/a> in recent history \u2014 from a classy and elegant event into a cheap and kitschy attempt to buy back Americans\u2019 love and votes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Covering the stately White House rooms and walls for the next month is gaudy decor that commemorates all of the commercialized aspects of the holiday season instead of classy and sacred religious Christmas traditions.<\/p>\n

Jill dubbed this year\u2019s holiday decor theme \u201cMagic, Wonder, and Joy\u201d<\/a> and deemed it a chance to reflect on \u201chow children experience this festive season.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to the White House \u2014 \u2018The People\u2019s House\u2019 \u2014 during the holidays. May the memories made this holiday season remind us all of the blessing that is our Nation,\u201d Jill wrote<\/a> in an announcement on X. <\/p>\n

Frankly, the People\u2019s House<\/a> and the guests expected to tour the festive grounds over the next month deserve better than the Bidens\u2019 desperate attempt to appear relatable, homey, and middle-class. In reality, they\u2019re a bunch of elitists willing to sell out the country for foreign cash and gifts like diamonds<\/a> and sports cars<\/a> from their multimillion-dollar houses, including their beach mansion<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The decked halls begin in the East Wing where baubles that are meant to resemble \u201choliday candy and sweet treats of the season\u201d \u2014 but actually look like giant Covid models \u2014 hang. Call me a Grinch or a Scrooge but big blue balls that look like they are honoring the spike proteins<\/a> that made Joe Biden president don\u2019t seem to scream season\u2019s greetings. <\/p>\n

As if the lockdown-esque ornaments weren\u2019t scary enough, anyone who tours the famous residence will come face to face with life-size statues of the Bidens\u2019 cat, Willow, and dog, Commander, who was kicked out of the White House<\/a> earlier this year for biting 11 too many Secret Service agents. The pets are adorned with licorice<\/a> which is ironically toxic to animals. <\/p>\n

What some rooms made up for in indulgence, color, and flamboyance, other areas of the White House lacked.<\/p>\n

Jill\u2019s tribute to Christmas music featured a simplistic \u201cmechanical theater creation\u201d<\/a> better suited for the Island of Misfit Toys<\/a> than the gilded and elegant Vermeil Room.<\/p>\n

The Blue Room is often heralded for housing the magnificent official White House Christmas Tree. This year, the oval reception area highlighted a\u00a0rather unremarkably decorated fir circled by trendy bottlebrush mini trees and a toy train. <\/p>\n

The large red and purple ornaments tied to the 18.5-foot tree\u2019s branches strongly contrasted the stylish and sometimes handmade ornaments that embellished trees<\/a> of presidencies past. <\/p>\n

Notably missing in the released photos of the Catholic family\u2019s chaotic holiday decor was any homage to the reason for the season: Jesus Christ\u2019s birth. <\/p>\n

For more than 50 years<\/a>, presidents have included a nativity scene<\/a> among the lights and trees lining the White House halls and lawn. The official White House Christmas announcement says<\/a> a nativity \u201cwith over 40 figurines, most dating back to the 18th century\u201d is tucked in the East Room. <\/p>\n

But none of Jill\u2019s social media pages nor the fawning corporate media coverage of her design choices featured photos of a display resembling the stable and manger. Not even the red and green White House<\/a> contemporary advent calendar<\/a> nodded to the Christian faith. <\/p>\n

Instead, FLOTUS opted to make Santa Claus<\/a> and his reindeer-led sleigh the center of attention by hanging them<\/a> in the Grand Foyer.<\/p>\n

White House Christmas decorations are supposed to be a nonpartisan showing of good cheer and class. That went out the window when corporate media like The Washington Post taunted<\/a> Melania Trump\u2019s choices honoring America\u2019s heritage and beauty<\/a> as \u201cbewildering\u201d and \u201ccold.\u201d <\/p>\n

Some commenters, while amplifying and praising Jill\u2019s attempt at capturing the FAO Schwartz aesthetic, once again dragged the former first lady\u2019s choices in the process. <\/p>\n

\u201cMelania Trump And Jill Biden\u2019s White House Christmas Decorations Couldn\u2019t Be More Different, Like It\u2019s Actually Funny,\u201d one Buzzfeed article, which was picked up by Yahoo!<\/a>, noted<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The author is technically right. While Melania\u2019s design choices were elegant, historical, and unique, Jill\u2019s seem run-of-the-mill. What you see warming the White House hearths is no different from what you would find gracing the front of your local department store or the theater lobby ahead of The Nutcracker. <\/p>\n

The White House\u2019s Christmas displays are supposed to be something worth touring. For me \u2014 and apparently for plenty of other critics on social media \u2014 Jill\u2019s haphazard holiday happenings miss the mark and remind Americans of the chaos her husband\u2019s presidency has wreaked on our nation.<\/a> <\/p>\n
