Legacy Media’s Despicable Tactics<\/h2>\n
Just when you think legacy media can\u2019t be any more despicable, they find a way to prove you wrong.<\/p>\n
On Monday, the sports blog known as Deadspin \u2014 which is owned by G\/O Media \u2014 published a\u200d hit\u200d piece<\/a> in which Senior Writer Carron J. Phillips falsely accused a young Kansas City Chiefs fan\u200b of dawning blackface during the team\u2019s Sunday game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Upon clicking on Phillips\u2019 article, readers are \u2062greeted with the headline, \u201cThe NFL needs to speak \u200cout against the Kansas City Chiefs fan in Black face, Native headdress,\u201d accompanied\u200d by a picture of a young \u200dfan\u2063 wearing a Chiefs jersey and\u2064 American Indian headdress with \u200bhalf of his face painted black.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt takes a\u200b lot to disrespect two groups of people at\u2064 once. \u2063But on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, a Kansas City Chiefs fan found a way to hate Black people and the Native Americans at the same time,\u201d Phillips fumed.<\/p>\n
Anyone who solely reads Phillips\u2019 article and nothing else about the so-called\u200d \u201ccontroversy\u201d would likely take\u200d the senior writer\u2019s \u201creporting\u201d as true \u2014 that a\u2064 young fan showed up \u200cto Sunday\u2019s game in blackface with the intent to mock \u2064black \u200dand Native Americans. As per usual with\u2064 America\u2019s irreparably broken media, however, Phillips\u2019 accusations\u200c are total bunk.<\/p>\n
Different camera angles\u2062 reveal \u200dthat the other half of the Chiefs fan\u2019s face\u2062 \u2014 the side Phillips chose to omit \u2014 is painted red. In other words,\u2064 his face was painted in \u2063Chiefs\u2019 colors.<\/p>\n
