McConnell \u2014 an Obama appointee \u2014 ruled Monday that\u200c a 1st Circuit Court of Appeals decision in\u200b a New Hampshire case already had determined that Castro lacked legal standing to challenge Trump\u2019s ballot access.<\/p>\n<p>In that case, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/abortion-pill-maker-asks-supreme-court-to-decide-legality-of-mifepristone\/\" title=\"Abortion pill manufacturer seeks Supreme Court ruling on mifepristone's legality.\">appeals court concluded<\/a> that \u201cCastro has \u200cfailed to show that he was a\u2062 \u2018direct and current competitor&#8217;\u201d in the race.<\/p>\n<p>And as New Hampshire goes, so goes Rhode Island.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also the \u2062way court cases trying to get Trump \u200bkicked off the ballot have been going around the country. As The Washington Times noted, \u201cIt\u2019s the fourth court this\u2063 month to deliver \u200da \u200csetback\u200c to anti-Trump activists who are trying to keep the\u200c GOP presidential front-runner off state\u2063 ballots\u2062 in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judges in\u200d Colorado, Michigan and\u200c Minnesota also have\u2063 ruled against efforts to keep Trump supporters from\u2064 voting for him in the event he wins the Republican nomination.<\/p>\n<p>(The\u200c Colorado case wasn\u2019t \u200ban outright win \u2062for Trump, though. Judge Sarah Wallace, an appointee of Democratic \u200cGov. Jared Polis, \u200ddid find that Trump \u200bengaged in \u201cinsurrection\u201d related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion, but\u200d she\u200d concluded that the 14th Amendment that bars insurrectionists from federal office was not written to include the presidency. That question is going to go to the Colorado Supreme Court,\u200b The New York Times reported last week.)<\/p>\n<p>And all of this is \u200chappening while Trump is facing down civil and criminal \u200ccases brought by Democratic zealots in New York, Georgia, Florida and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>As eyeball-glazing as the legal minutiae\u200b can be, \u2063the key point to remember is that no matter what label these court cases fall under \u2014 election-related, civil complaints,\u200d criminal indictments \u2014 all are just fronts in the legal warfare Democrats\u2064 are waging in their deathly fear \u200bthat Trump will somehow return to \u200dthe presidency.<\/p>\n<p>Leftists aren\u2019t afraid that Trump will\u200c damage the country because \u2063his positions are wrong. But the fact of the matter is that the American people have\u200b the\u2062 right to choose their\u200c candidate in \u2064a \u200cfair \u2062and \u2062democratic process. The courts, as President Trump rightly pointed \u200dout, should \u200cnot \u2064interfere with this fundamental right.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2062 is\u200b particularly telling about these cases is that they are not just \u200bisolated incidents. They are part of a wider effort by anti-Trump activists \u200dand the Democratic Party to \u2063undermine his chances of running for office again. They are \u2063using the judicial system as a weapon to try to achieve\u200d their political agenda.<\/p>\n<p>But the Rhode Island judge\u2019s decision sends a strong\u200d message that \u2063these\u2062 attempts will not \u200csucceed. It reaffirms \u200bthe principle that voters have \u200cthe right to choose the\u2063 candidate they believe \u200dis\u2063 best \u200dsuited to lead the country,\u200c regardless of partisan\u200b interests.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it is worth noting that Judge \u2062McConnell, who dismissed \u200bthe lawsuit, was\u200c appointed \u2064by former President Obama. This shows that the \u2064decision was\u2063 not driven by \u200cpolitical \u2064bias, but\u200b rather \u2064by\u200b a commitment \u200cto upholding the rule of law and protecting \u200bthe integrity\u2063 of the electoral process.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that multiple courts across \u200cdifferent states have\u200c ruled in favor of Trump\u200d supporters&#8217; right to vote for their preferred candidate also\u200b speaks volumes.
